As most people know by now, the BOTF2 forums recently underwent a major upgrade. These updates are not yet complete however; we do not have a news page etc. yet. I've created this thread so that Nemitor can get an idea of what sorts of things people would like changed about the forums, any additions, anything removed, that kind of thing. I have already spoken with Nemitor and we came up with a number of changes that we would like to see happen in the near future, such as:
If anyone has any ideas for further changes or simply wants to discuss those listed above, please say so here. |

Matress, I don't know what I would do without you. -- Yes, post away - if you don't you won't see what you want to see. Soon (within the next month, I'm going on vacation in two weeks for two weeks), I'll be upgrading lots and lots, so if you dont tell me what you want you wont get it. It's that simple. |

Yep, within the next few days there will be some significant changes, such as the return of downloads and a news page, as well as some minor changes like that widening. |

No, it isn't. The forums are meant to be wierd. ... Here's a new one for you Nem - fix the google analytics so they work for the new forums. I'm still getting analytics reports for the old forums. It's interesting finding out that there were as many as 5 site visits to the old forums last week! (Which is incidentally wrong compared to the old forum site statistics which show they were almost 6 thousand page views in the last week on the old forums. Why are so many people still visiting them when everything is on the new forums? ) |

Nem, if you try to edit a PM that you've already sent, when you click on the send button, a yellow message comes up saying "The submitted form is invalid. Try submitting again." It doesn't matter if you don't even make any changes either; the error message ALWAYS comes up. You have to delete the original PM then copy-and-paste and resend it if you want to make any changes afterwards. Odd glitch. |

Post subject: | Re: Forum Updates |
Hm. Seems like a PHPBB error itself. I'll add it to the bug list and try to fix it - but I try to stay away from PHPBB3 since its vastly complex and it has tons of people who know more about PHP than I working on it. I would recommend deleting any PMs if you change your mind. PMs weren't designed to be editable, I guess - and seem to somehow work off the same initial code as actual threads. I'll take a look at it if I get time, but I've got tons of allegiance stuff I want to get done this week, nevertheless get the Downloads and News page done. |

Oh it's not that important, I just thought you'd want to know. And sometimes glitches are the result of larger problems that you only discover when you look. Hopefully this isn't one of those times. |

According to the admin control panel, the forums are phpbb3.0.0, which is the latest version, and the database is MySQL 4.1.22-standard if that helps, strings. |

It's at the top of all five of the current forum themes - in slightly different places, but it's there. |
