How exactly are you supposed to vote? There are no polls or anything! People are just submitting nominations in the threads, not voting, so how can you possibly vote if the nominations aren't in yet? Besides, most of the categories have NO nominations. Having awards for nothing just wouldn't make sense.

that's the trick behind voting, MoE (in the Third World ) no, seriously, I hope guest vote is available too on Monday just like in the official Mod of the Year Awards where btw. I already voted twice in the two voting rounds for Enterprise TCW!

Nominations are now open and will remain open today through Sunday Dec 30th @ 11:59pm EST. Voting will take place Monday and Tuesday (12am-12pm EST) with the winners being announced on Wednesday Jan 2nd. In the developed world we use the judiciary, like the US Supreme Court, to steal elections.

Exactly, so voting doesn't even start until tomorrow, Jig!

Hm. This could be bad.
At 10 AM GMT time tomorrow I leave the interweb for three days. Ironically the three days the polls are open. I can try to rig up some connection using paperclips and toilet paper, but I'm counting on that the polls are open that early.

Now we see "I was a bit worried that I sprang this quickly on people so I've updated the time allowed for nomination and voting.
Nominations are now open and will remain open today through Tuesday Jan 2nd @ 11:59pm EST. Voting will take place Wednesday thru Friday (12am-12pm EST) with the winners being announced on Saturday Jan 5th."
The image above is a Supremacy interface and the Federation starship MOE from the same game.

Oh, and I forgot to add, please vote fairly. Don't register multiple accounts to vote multiple times or anything like that. Particularly with the fan projects, the developers put in a lot of hard work, so please don't attempt "steal" the enthusiasm that they have legitimately generated for their projects .

so I guess it's member vote only and not guest one too (IP-wise reglemented) like in the mod of the year 2007 contest?

It sounds like a beauty contest or the academy awards. Does it mater after what you think?

Allegiance is probably the only game on these forums that could qualify for the "Top Fan Based Game" category since it's wholly playable (the rest of us have to settle for 'Most Anticipated' ). I'd nominate it, but I don't have time to make a 120x120 image for it right now. I'd appreciate it if someone could jump on that today.

Thanks Mike - I'm honored but I doubt it qualifies since it was never officially released.

Well, I've already made a nomination for Most Anticipated . It's lame that they're throwing the retail and fan games together in the Most Anticipated category, though I will be amused if one of us manages to beat Star Trek: Online .

Agreed - they should split retail and fan, although I know I'm not anticipating Online.

hm, it would sure have helped to get more voters if guest voting was enabled but I don't know if his forum software allows for a secure guest voting with ip address range check (no multiple votes from xx.xx.yz.abc addresses). anyhow, we should consider combining supremacy and bote votes in the end for fairness' sakes since it's basically the same type of game one is anticipating .

If it's done next year, I'd recommend just writing or finding a good independent voting script.

I dunno, I'm anticipating BotE a lot more than Supremacy. I'll probably be pretty damn sick of the game by the time I'm finished developing it .
