I can't believe there's been no updates in a year. At least the main site says so. I'm dying to see this completed. I just got the desire to start playing the game again that I got the old XP patch and started playing.

I love the high-res screen and text. I imagine there would be a dozen more features that weren't in the original. I can only hope there's more progress eventually...

EDIT: BTW does anyone know how to increase the resolution of the original game?

*Edit - damn you Jig, you posted whilst I typed this! :P

Hey trekker-, welcome to the forums! :)

...Or at least, welcome back, if you've lurked here before as you suggest. :P

For a start, there most certainly have been updates in the last year. The last major update for Supremacy was in May, which we announced on the forums. There haven't been any updates at all since then though because Mike (The developer) has been swamped by his "real" job and hasn't had any time to continue programming the game, however.

Trekwar has joined our community as a replacement for Star Trek: Allegiance. Nemitor (The developer for Allegiance), has been hit by some bad luck lately and has had to concentrate on his university studies. His development team broke up in light of this, so virtually all development on Allegiance has stopped for the time being. Trekwar was a rival project to Allegiance, but is actively being developed by Klogd, who signed up to the forums a few months ago. We've now given him his own forum section, so check it out for screenies and development updates.

Birth of the Empires is going to release an update some time in the next few months, or at least, that's what Malvoisin said a month or three ago. No other word on that has been given yet though, and I haven't actually seen him online in a while.

New Beginnings...well, I don't actually know what Jigalypuff is doing with New Beginnings. He hasn't discussed his plans with me in a few months now. I do know that he was busy with his plumbing business a while ago though, and he still lurks on the forums. He does own Star-Trek-Games.com afterall so he's entitled to lurk all he wants. :P

The site itself has undergone a number of changes in the last year too. We've expanded to become a general Trek gaming website, instead of just being a Trek modding site, due to the sad demise of startrek-games.com. We've added the star-trek-mods domain to cover mods for existing games as part of this expansion. We also expanded to include the Aftermath development project for both Star Trek: Legacy and now Star Trek: Bridge Commander, and we've in fact just completed a site update that allows users to upload videos and post comments on said videos via our Site Portal. If you check back far enough in the news updates on the site portal, you will find that I Did Actually Post About The Supremacy Update.

...

As for increasing the resolution for BOTF, I don't know if that is possible. You'll have to ask over on Armadafleetcommand. If they don't know how to do it, no one does.

OK I see. The one I'm most interested in is Supremacy. I was playing it again a bit just now and realized that it's a bit more developed than I originally thought, I just didn't know what I was doing. Still I'd love to see that game finished.

Also, I haven't been lurking. I only discovered this place and the game about two days ago. I'm just really into it and hope to see it complete some day. They are doing a fine job so far!

Was starting to think you'd died or summat, Wolfe. What's been taking up all your time lately? Obviously you had a good reason to keep us all waiting...didn't you? :P

Ya PhD :P

However, I have been writing other software and also planning this framework, which has allowed me to become a better coder i hope.

From now till christmas all i should be doing is coding, so I will find some time, either to add to the current one, or build a plan with Mtrobel on converting everything over to XNA. We shall see,...

Regards Wolfe

XNA? Instresting, i've still got a copy of Strings' Combat System and his Model Viewer - they both use XNA, and the model viewer comes with quite a few models in that format, so you might be able to cannibalise them for testing. Want me to send the files your way? I've checked and they both still work, even though .Net has been updated twice since Strings released them.

Wolfe is the guy that is making the Combat System, Trekker. Read his post above to see what he's been doing.

Mstrobel, aka Mike Strobel, is the developer for Supremacy and he's still swamped with his real life job, and likely will be for a while yet.
