The popular Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "The Inner Light" has one of the more memorable themes, originally composed by Jay Chattaway. This week musician and Trek fan Peter Pringle has posted a YouTube video of his rendition of the theme, using a Moog Ethervox Theremin, all against a spacey background. The result is something pretty cool…check it out. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7XQN9XDnRm4&feature=player_embedded
God I love the Theremin. No other instrument screams "Scifi!" more than it does. And just think what the old shows would've been like without it. It would be a slightly darker world without it's beautiful, weird, and scary sound effects and music.
And now i'm watching clips of when Picard lays the flute. Such a beautiful episode...such a beautiful song.
