I was using a forum theme for the last year+ and it seems as of today (or the last 2 days) it just reset me to default. I'm now trying the AcidTech but it is slightly different than it was before (Everything is wider and the colors are a little different). I noticed you said you added 2 new ones but you used to have alternatives before, just wondering what happened to them.

Skeet was the guy that applied the forum update. He wanted to get rid of the non-default themes, including AcidTech and force everyone to use the default, because very, very few people use the non-default themes. I campaigned against the change and forced him to allow people to choose from the existing themes.

However, as part of the forum update, we decided to remove and update the Acidtech theme. The removal caused all users using it (And there were only 7 of us, including you and me) to revert to the default. The copy of Acidtech that we had was actually four years out of date, and it had a couple of bugs, including the post width. I know you'd gotten used to the size of the posts, (I had too) but the size of the posts was due to an incorrect post width setting that caused posts to stay at the same width regardless of the resolution of the monitor that they were viewed from. This meant anyone viewing posts with a widescreen monitor or a high resolution would see enormous blank columns down the sides of the forums and only a small fraction of the screen space was taken up by posts etc. This meant the theme was useless for such people.

As for the change in the colours, I noticed that too, but I wasn't sure if I was imagining it. The change wasn't intentional on our part, so the developers of the theme probably slightly changed the colours when they made the update, possibly by accident. We'll just have to get used to it.

As Moe stated. I stuck everyone on the black diamond theme as it was the most user friendly one and visually pleasing one imo. Moe petitioned to undo this and he won. But when i was looking at themes i thought to myself i wonder if they had been updated as it has been a few years since we installed the themes we have and sure enough i found a updated AcidTech theme which fixes the width problem for wide-screen monitors as before it was stuck on a fixed width so looked fine on 4:3 monitors but had massive empty blocks on the sides for us with monitors like 24" wide-screen tft monitors. So the update fixed that for a start and has fixed a few other issues which were minor.

Sry for the inconvenience but some things had to be updated. And i couldn't keep a old acidtech on the site due to conflict issues with a new one so we kept the newest version of it.

Stay tuned for potential new themes coming soon. And a new stylish banner for acidtech to show your at Star-Trek-Games.com, Botf2 forums. :winkthumb:

I actually hate (minorly) the wider new version, I find it more pleasing to the eye to have smaller columns, its easier to read (my opinion).

Actually you'll notice a lot of websites are now using blank columns down the left and right of pages (sort of like huge margins) to make text on the screen easier to read.

I preferred the columns too, but as I said above, the columns weren't displaying correctly. And with the ever-increasing size of monitors and their resolutions, the problem was only going to get worse for forum members. Something had to be done.

It may be in future we will be able to apply an update that puts the columns back, but does it based on the screen resolution, so those on wide screens don't have gigantic columns. Or we may even be able to update the template ourselves. We're going to at least try and sort out a new forum logo or something, so the current AcidTech nuke alert will likely be going some time in the future.

But we also have other updates planned as well, including some new forum features. Which will include... :censored:

:romulan:

You'll just have to wait and see.

Personally, I like this new blue theme. :bigthumb: How about a green theme? (Just joking! )
And the White default font is a great idea also. Font colors to the right and avatars to the left,.. nice! :bigthumb:
Don't know if it's the right place to post this but here it is. Nice work!

Actually mate...have a look at This.

The only thing that would be different is that the radiation logo would be replaced by the Star-Trek-Games logo.

And incidentally, as I said in a post to Klogd last night, this "new" blue theme has been available to all forum members for more than four years. I've been using it myself that whole time. Also note that I wrote a forum post Here nearly three months ago advertising the fact that we had more forum themes if people had bothered to actually look at the "My Board Style" option in the User Control Panel.

Whenever I sign up to a forum, the first thing I do is go in the control panel and look what settigns are available. People miss out on so much by not looking lol.

Well, you're partly right about this one, my bad. I don't often go to my Control Panel, as I always used the default one. When I registered to the forum, I had tried them but I never went back anymore (except for a few times maybe, I changed my signature once or twice) to check on the other options. Once I was using the Subsilver and had a little problem with my font color so I came back to the default and never changed since. Sorry! Now that I'm in it, I admit that I should have!
