Hey there Sovarn, you have now joined with the collective lovers of BOTF! (Does that sound right to you?) 8O Anyway, that is a really cool site! Shame I have a rather pathetic monitor (With an equally pathetic computer) But even I can see that it is <shudders of graphical pleasure> Jigalypuff and Dafedz are the guys in charge of the ship models. They aren't the only ones though, there are others. (Fireball currently springs to mind, but again, there are others) Get in touch with them if you want, they will certainly be interested in the site - although it is one of many. (But that's the most in-depth one i've seen yet) Let Jig know if you would like to help with making some models - the more help he can get, the better! (And I mean that in a good way, not the insulting way it sounds when I read it over...) Have a look at the screenies thread - there are some recently-put-up ship models up in there, that you might like to see. ... Well after that, welcome to the site again, and feel free to post on any of the threads. I'm matress (Beware my goldfish of doom) and i'm sure you'll get to know some of the other guys before long. If you like jokes and the like, check out the general chat section as well. Happy posting! |

I don't know if anyone's noticed but you can drag the ships around and put different ones next to each other. For anyone who watches a lot of Trek this site is incredibly accurate, check out the Defiant next to a Jem Hadar fighter for example. |

I know this is the general chat section, but I was generally talking about the general chat section in a general way! My appologies Fireball, I had no idea that you've been arund that long. I guess my intelligence operatives failed me. It's nice to see my beautiful Warbirds in the site as well. Has anyone looked at the 10X section? Why is there a picture of a car above the Stargate? Could someone explain what the massive ring thing from Halo is though? (-2000X section) I've never played those games, as I don't have an Xbox. |

Halo is the one thing on the site that I can't tell how well the site's creator did... You can't see a lot of it, it is really a complete ring, 10,000 Km in diameter and at least several hundred in width. I'd guess its thickness is about 20 to 50 Km. Halo is definitely a cult-fan thing, if you don't have an Xbox, you have no clue what it is all about. The Forerunners built it, possibly billions of years ago, to study (and if necessary destroy) a virulent parasitic lifeform called the Flood. (nasty critters, those...). Supposedly they were used, and the weapons on the rings (Halo and six others) destroyed the Forerunners as well as the Flood, except for a few "samples" on each ring for further study, which was by then obviously a moot point. Nobody yet knows exactly who the Forerunners were, or if any survived, or the finer details of Halo, such as why it supports a habitable, planet-like biosphere. Humans are fighting aliens (called the 'Covenant') who have a mysterious religious connection to all things Forerunner. Halo was destroyed at the end of the first game, but we visit a second one in Halo 2. It really is quite an involving storyline and a VERY fun game (I do think it is available for PC, too...) Anyway, thought I might fill you in... |

Thanks for that Jarok, I had NO idea what Halo was about at all...it sounds rather cool actually. In a way it doesn't help me though, because...hmm, how should I put this...I doubt it would work on my computer! Ah well, the scrap yard creeps ever closer, my horrible hunk of junk... Perhaps i'll be able to play it when I get a new computer. |
