just a question to those who are modders, which botf 1 file / files are nessesary for the ki? i think something goes wrong to my favorite ress so i have to renew them (stopping the computer building just two destroyers ) |

I'm more of a modifier of the game than a modder (I mix and match the files from mods I like) ...what exactly do you mean though? What is a ki and ress? If you have any faulty files, I don't mind sending copies from my game, unless you mean something else? |

by ki are you referring to AI? (artificial intelligence) and ress = race? you can't modify the game's AI. you can reduce the costs of the ship, allowing the computer races to build more of them. that might fix your problem of the computer only building 2 destroyers. you'll need to modify the shiplist.sst file in botf.res with a shiplist editor, which can be found here http://members.aon.at/zelli/editors.htm it's the BotFED v1.4 editor. it's a really handy editor. I managed to change around the Cardassian ships, so the Keldon is now the Battleship, Galor the heavy cruiser and Telok the strike cruiser. it's more canon, although it was a pain in the ass to modify the shiptech file with a hex editor |

Shockwave is right, BOTFed 1.4 is one of the best ship editors out there (As far as I know) I have it myself, and haven't had any problems with it. I have two others though - one that keeps getting stuck in German, and another that crashes if you try to edit the accuracy rating of the ships. Luckily though, BOTFed 1.4 doesn't have these problems. Welcome to the forums by the way shockwave. Happy posting! |

Don't worry, even we make mistakes when it comes to English! ... I think the number of ships may depend on what difficulty setting you have set. On harder difficulty settings the AI is more likely to build ships, and defend it's borders. If that still doesn't help though, i'm afraid I can't help you. |

And just think, you'll be addicted to yet another whole new game in a couple of months! If you fancy a taste of what's to come, have a look in the downloads section. The BOTF2 database will be the official help system of the game, once it is released. I'm helping test it actually. |
