So I know there are a lot of members here from the "Isles" - Anyone attending the Olympics? I am a little surprised to see a LOT of empty seats in the background of the seated events -- surprised unless they are charging too much for them. Perhaps that's the case since the streets were well-lined for bike racing and such. London is looking beautiful, I really like the torch, sorry it can't be seen by all. Hope it isn't too big a hassle for those who live there. Favorite Opening Ceremony moments. 1) The forging and coming together of the Olympic Rings - and resulting fiery shower 2) The Queen "parachuting in" - what a good sport! 3) Mr. Bean in "Chariots of Fire" especially the looks of boredom and the daydream sequence. The newlyweds are lookin so serious in every shot. Hope they didn't have a fight... ![]() Best wishes for the British and other "Isle" teams to do well. How about the story of that Irish Gymnast? Twice, with two different problems - told he would never walk again. Bake sales and car washes to get there. Faster, Higher, Stronger Mates! |

Best of luck to them, but we are going to take team sport medals xD Watch handball and waterpolo and prepair youselves. Bježite ljudi, bježite iz grada, Ide ekipa pijana. Bježite ljudi dok postoji nada, Jer ovdje igra HRVATSKA! Enjoy ![]() |

Sorry I'm only watching very less Olympics TV ...spending more time on one special space game :-) and here I saw the Opening Ceremony but only the first 2 hours - I think due to the lightning show they started so late at the event so I fell asleep - forgive me :-) Favorite Opening Ceremony moments: I fully agree... and add: - great show - great British humour (Mr. Bean - great once again) - a interviewed woman said: 2000 pounds for one ticket...much money (ok I checked ... 5 categories 20 - 150 - 995 - 1600 - 2012 pounds - clearly in the year 2012...) ..saw today a womens bike racing the last 5 minutes - there were lots of people besides on London's streets checked medal table: China is in the lead, hope UK catches up, Germany zero - doesn't matter my mottos: - let them (athletes) have fun and success - bread and games for the people worldwide is much better than making war - and finally to all: Live long and prosper! Greetings from near by Munich |

My favorite Olympic ceremony moments were: 1) when Jacques Rogge (President of the International Olympic Committee) in his speech said that the Olympic games are returning home... 2) when some guy carrying the olympic torch helped some random guy light a cigarette 3) when a random woman joined the Indian team during the presentation of the teams My only comment is: ![]() ![]() ![]() |
