Astronomers have found a rogue planet ~100 light-years away:

That Season 1 Enterprise episode doesn't seem so silly now, does it?

BTW, physicists have suspected a long time ago that rogue planets may exist, as the N-body problem is chaotic for N>2 and it is quite easy for one of the planets in the system (even in ours) to be kicked out. :vulcan:

Yes and lithium content in the sun's surface suggests a gas giant fell in while it is believed that Jupiter and Saturn gravitationally kicked Neptune and Uranus into higher longer orbits.

This kind of trumps the fact that in the game random Rogues are always Tiny
I've removed that limitation. I wanted to for a long time anyway.

Indeed, any body can go rogue: a rocky planet or gas giant in a star system, a star in a cluster, a galaxy in a galaxy cluster and so on. This is one of the few cases where size does NOT matter :twistedlaugh:

Spoiler: show
Chaos theory is just awesome by the way...
