Hey gang


Believe it or not, this is the first time EVER that i write a post on any forum. Congratulations to me. Thank you.

Anyway, i'm trying to find servers or game lobbies where i can play BOTF 1 over the internet. Can anyone point me in the right direction? If not, is there anyone here that might be interested in forming a group to play BOTF 1 through tcp/ip ?

I'd be interested, but i haven't got a clue how to do it.

I've NEVER played ANY game over the internet, I simply don't know how to do it. :oops:

I've never even clicked on the multiplayer button in BOTF, coz I was always unsure what would happen! (I only got the internet relatively recently, so I wasn't sure what would happen if I clicked it when I wasn't connected)

Anyway, hope you manage to play that game, you'll just have to wait for the other guys to answer you.

You can play it on msngaming. I've tried a few times, but someone always crashes - it's best to ensure one person has windows xp and can run the game from one disk.

zone is buggy as hell , is there any way of using the ingame multiplayer feature to get a game going.

i used to use messenger and set them up directly that way, however messenger 7.0 wont let me do it.. :cry:

hey gang

i'm gonna try and start a botf 1 multiplayer game in in hour. 13:30 London time, 8:33 AM Washington time.

If you wanna join in, then this is what you do:

-Start game (original, unmodified version)
-New Multiplayer game
-Join
-Type in your name
-Press TCP/IP
-Enter the following IP address: 198.168.0.208
-press connect

At this point there should be one game in progress called 'test'. Select it and press Join.

After that you just select your race (first come, first serve) and wait for the other players and for me to start the game.

I was having a bit of trouble with firewalls and such, but i hope everything will work when you connect.

use the planet.spac and the planetboonie mods, or you will have a very unbalanced game, if you play the 500 rule then an unmodded game is going to be crap, your opponents will complian that their systems are ****. as you cannot do a qr in direct ip i would suggest the above modified files.
