Just joined up, don't have a clue whats going on, but loved the original game and would love to have at least some small part (or talk about it anyway) in a sequel...

A lot of aspects have been decided, release isnt supposed to be far away, but your more than welcome to post any ideas you have. the games request part of the forumn contains the guts of the game in writting and any ideas currently being worked on. Id suggest you read the things we all agree on thread before posting, then the personell as a ressource, ship list and minor civ buildings lists are also good threads.

The TWAAO thread (Things We All Agree On) is supposed to be totally up to date with ALL the information that has been decided...well it isn't - and hasn't been for about 4 months!

Horadrim is right though, it is worth the read (But make sure you give yourself enough time - it's looooong) and it'll give you the gist of the game.

The personnel as a resource thread will fill you in on some of the latest ideas, and the ship list and minor race buildings threads give additional info (And are practically completed)

Reading your post, it sounds like there's something I ought to tell you - this is BOTF2 - it's BOTF, just better. MUCH better!

The game is gonna be totally built from scratch - it will NOT suffer from the same problems as BOTF (Although it may have some of it's own) 8O

Whilst cosmetically it will look similar to BOTF, it will be different, thanks to all the additions that we are planning. The game will be far more strategic, far more tactical. More ships, more options. It's BOTF, just better.

anyway don't hammer about the TWAOO thread, a lot of things have happened, i really was busy and some ideas that are now thrown around are will be put in. But Matress_of_evil i think you could be a great help in this, you probally could post an empty post in the TWAAO thread, i put all the TWAOO stuff in that post, so that you can also edit in that post. i then because i'm mod, can also change stuff in it. This way we have two people updating it. What do you think?

This has to be done responsibly, you can't just post all kind of stuff that you think have been agreed because three guys said yes to it. Anyway just post a new post in the TWAOO thread, with hello or something. And i will put the entire TWAOO list in it. We can then both add things to that post of yours, when i'm not satisfied with it could always put it in a post of my own...

Thanks everyone, I've had a look over at the What we've all agreed on thread. Seems to be some great suggestions there. I'll see if theres anything else I can constructively add. I've done a fair bit of programming and stuff (C++, Java - mostly Java), HTML/Scripting languages and database stuff (SQL on MySQL, Access and Oracle DBMS) so if I can be of any assistance on that side of things I'd be more than happy to chip in an oar. Admittedly I don't know a lot about games development... other than playing them . Otherwise I'm just happy to be looking on at this project, as BOTF was great - if a little glitchy, and I would really love to see a sequel.

Well hopefully it won't have any of the glitches in it this time round. It is being built from scratch afterall.

You're welcome to post on any of the threads - don't worry about how old they are, if you see a thread that you want to mention something on, then just post! Old threads are constantly being revived anyway.

Of course, if you don't see a thread with your ideas in, just make a new one.

Iwulff, if you haven't noticed yet, i've already posted some of the things that have so far been decided in the threads that I set up. They aren't totally complete yet, but it's only the fine detail that is left to decide really.

I only noticed your above post this morning, (I posted in TWAO last night) so sorry if i've done different to what you meant.

Some of the guys have started to post in TWAAO with comments as well.
