ME again ;) is there any roms players here that can help me in strategic combat,i eard everyone said that the roms ship are strong but im playing the ultimate mod 2 by dafedz whos excellent by the way and i get my ass kick almost every times.For an exemple i had 4 cruiser2 and 9 destroyer2 against 6 ferenguys raider2 and 4strike2 and i only kill 3 raiders2.Need your help.Thanks

Use the cruisers to kick the cruisers, and use the destroyers to attack the destroyers by turn one. After that let the cruisers do assault and the destroyers evade, which basically can't be hit by any ferengi raider, as there phasers are not accurate enough.

Ultimate mod 2 is excelent, Winterhawk. You can download it from http://www.armadafleetcommand.com/botf/index.php
Just sign up and then you can download it. You get instructions to install it along with the download. I think you'd like it, the Roms get nice upgrades, and so do the Feds :D

That should help, but it's about Ultimate mod 1, not 2.

If you want more info though, just PM him directly. he hasn't got any painsticks like SOM has...that I know of... :wink: :lol:

Did they ever fix the problem with the new ship models not firing phasors?

I had 9 connies versus 7 klingon destroyers and i got wiped out! :S

Not to my knowledge, no. :(

I sent a PM to Jig a while ago coz I found a forum that he and Dafedz used whilst making the ultimate mods. On them, they said they might have solved the problem.

He replied to me and said it hadn't worked out though. :(

Dafedz seems to be one of the top modellers out there for BOTF, so if anyone did manage to solve it, it would be him. :wink:

Anyway, that's half the point of BOTF2 - you will be able to add stuff in, if you want. :wink:

I've never actually downloaded the Ultimate mods.

My games are a total kitbash of many mods that i've downloaded. I simply mixed and matched the files I like.

I've used the various editors and things to make my own changes as well.

Battles can be quite fun, coz i've edited the ship's stats so that their strengths and weaknesses are totally pronounced. It's really fun taking out the Ferengi now. :lol:

Even if it can't fire phasers, I wouldn't trade my Akira and Prometehus for the world :D
Besides Matress, can a true a Romulan resist a Valdore warbird :wink:

Yes and no. The model is a nice one, but the absence of disrupters is sometimes quite annoying ^^

Disruptors? All I know is, my Promie doesn't need phasers. Torpedos do just fine :twisted:

I know what you mean. Yeah, somethimes it gets irritating, especialy with light and manuevarable crafts which can evade torpedos :(

I stopped using it cause it just wasnt fair playing the feds. The klingons just wiped me out time and time again!

In the Bmod it gives you defender for most races which are excellent, and its hard to win ag\ainst klingons as they are the most powerful, but the romulans becasue they are the smallest/most monuvable...

The new ships of the Umod can be fun, but no phasers just piss me off. No offense, daf. :wink: Rebalance mod v.2 is my current game. Its pretty fun.

What I did with the ultimate mod, since phasers don't work for the new ships, I simply increased their photon torpedos to compensate. Works fine.

But not in 300+ ship-battles with true close combat. Never saw a ship shooting torps at their back, but the beams can! :twisted:
