My heartfelt sympathies go out to anyone on this forum from the UK. This was a despicable act done by cowards. I'm sure I echo everyone here in saying that we stand behind you 110 percent. We share a common heritage. We have stood by you in the past ,and will continue to stand by you now and in the future in your darkest hours.

I don't personally know anyone who was in London when the attacks happened, but I do know that the husband of one of my ex-teachers was in London at the time. God she was worried about him.

Luckily, he wasn't caught in the blasts, but he could've been.

Sympathies to anyone who did know someone caught up in them.

Echoing Dave's sentiments here in the US, as well.
Our deepest sympathies.

My sympathies to any one who was effected by this and to muslims in leeds whos mosque was fire bombed as a petty vengance attack. Terrorists are scum, the purposful targeting of civillians to spread fear can never be justified. They won't suceed.

My deepest sympathies go out to any and all affected by this cowardly attack also.

I was worried because I have a cousin who is studying law in London, and I know she took the subways. Well, it turned out terminal that was hit was her terminal, and the time of the blast should have been around the time she was supposed to be there. Luckily for her, she wasnt feeling well, and decided to stay home that day.

I know there were those not as lucky, and to them I offer my most sincere condoloences.

Its times like these that make me realize just how true my sig really is.

I feel sorry for the muslims, everytime this happens they have to defend their faith. Still it didnt stop the petty revenge attack.

Well this isn't the first time London has been bombed, she can cope. My heart goes out to those injured and those who died and their famillies.

I agree Loki, just because some Terrorists may be Muslims doesn't mean that all Muslims are terrorists! I didn't know anyone who was in London at the time, but all my hopes and prayers go out to those affected.

You mean Iraq then?! 8O

Why didn't we just leave them alone? They can't help themselves, so we go in to sort it out for them. Then they attack us for helping them!

Some people just don't know a good thing from a bad thing!

Democracy vs fear and oppression. I know what I would go for!

It might sound a bit much, but I often wonder why we didn't nuke the place and get it over and done with. At least the terrorists would be smoke!

Problem is, you have all those dead civillians then...why can't the terrorists just gather in one place for once? (And let George Bush know where they are)

I'm not a Bible-Basher, Muslim-Basher, or anything like that. I don't want to offend anyone or cause problems, but I am anti-Religion. The way I see things, is that yeah, Religion solves half the problems in the world, but it also causes the other half.

The only way to solve the worlds' problems, is if the terrorists gained a bit of sense, and realised what they were doing. Diplomats and Politicians learning what the word truth means and actually using it seriously wouldn't go amiss either.

The people of the world want an end to the worlds problems, but the Governments of the world just think of their own pockets.

Only if we are united, can we ever hope to end poverty, end violence, end terrorism. It is only we unite in a single cause that we can fulfil the human dream.

Until that time comes, that is all it is; a dream. Millions will continue in Poverty, millions will suffer in silence, millions will die needlessly.

The human dream isn't something for the rich or developed nations of the world, it is something to share, something to unite for.

All the religions of the world, all the people of the world. One voice, one dream. That is the way it should be.

Sadly, the attacks prove that this just isn't the case. :(

So where do you draw the line between "you" and "them"?
"An eye for an eye, and the whole world goes blind" not me, Ghandi

And, Matress, no need to say how much I agree on everything you said (except, I'm religious).

Atleast we know that Mastress will listen to the people of Britain and the world. Blair hasn't and he hardly noticed 1000's of people condemming the war in tyhe first place. If it hadn't have happened innocent British soldiers wouldn't have died :!:

My Lords, Ladies, and Gentlemen.

One's United Kingdom of England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales has a new Prime Minister, one's Matress_of_Evil.

Could you honestly imagine the Queen making such a speech?

Seriously though, this is a thread of condolence and condemnation. One is not here to be amused.

how many people live in britan? only a millon or so disagreed with the war, that means the rest of us think it is the right thing to do, why do people say it`s not right for the people of iraq to leave in a free country like we do?
anyway the iraq war is a direct result of the attack on the wtc, so those **** started it, and now they whine that we go and bomb a few of them? kill em all is the way forward.

An oversimplification. A million or so were at least vocal opponents. It is most certain that the rest of those who disagreed with the war kept their opinions to themselves because they knew that nothing could change the dangerous course that our country has taken.
Evidence? Perhaps one should consider that the vast majority of members of the public interviewed during the election were against Blair on Iraq.

It is also worth pointing out that about 25000 civilians have died since the US-led coalition invaded. Of that 25000, approximately 37% were killed by the US-led coalition with only 9% being killed by the Insurgency. The rest were killed by the chaos of criminal activity in the aftermath.

Umm. What relevance has Iraq to Al Qaeda prior to the Invasion? Absolutely none.
In fact, as I recall, Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein were politically opposed to each other and hated each others guts..

Sadam had a standing offer to give Bin Laden asilam before the war. Also, US intel had discovered that Sadam's agents have met with Al Quida thugs before 9/11. Al Zarqoui is Al Quida's #2 guy right behind Bin Laden. Sadam had stated his desire to help Al Quida wage its war on 'infidels'. Sadam was known to provide money to the famalies of suicide bombers that attacked Israilies. Had used chemical and biological weapons on his own people, most notably the Kurds. (Veering away the terroist connections for a moment.) He had acid vats used to dissolve his prisoners alive, human grinders to slowly grind of people while still alive, had rape rooms (the rapes were video taped for the enjoyment of Sadam and his top cronies by the way) and the list goes on...

I know for certain that Al Zarqawi was in Iraq at the time though I read that he was there without Saddam's sanction seeking medical aid after the War in Afghanistan. It is true that Saddam in the 1990's had tried to forge and alliance with Al Qaeda, but it fell apart due to Bin Laden's lack of trust ideologically (Saddam was secular).

True, but this had nothing to do with Al Qaeda therefore the argument is null.

FoxURA wrote:

True, but considering that in the past 5 years (including the run up to the war) that Iraq had no real weapons to speak of both in terms of special and conventional means (he actually had disarmed during the nineties) , then the argument that he intended to supply them to Al Qaeda is also null.

I am in no way an apologist for Saddam, I know of his crimes.
I am however in favour of establishing truth. Truth that had been distorted many times by the Bush Administration and allies.

But lets not get into this debate right now. This is a thread offering our support for those who died in London.
I must say though, I offer greater support to the families of both the soldiers in Iraq and even greater support for the civilian families that have suffered. It was for them that I offered most during my two minutes silence.

Mangan is right to a certain extent. im happy iraqi's are free but we were deffinately lied to so we could go to war. All the above was true but teh justifacation was the weapons of mass destruction which they clearly didn't have.
