The site was created on the 10 September 2004 so might we get the game out before or even on - that would be good, the sites first birthday! :D

All i kmow is that (if this is still correct) that when the game is first released, there will only be one playable race - The Federation. Later on mods and updates will be released to allow you to play with more races and options

mmm some new info or pics would be nice, maybe some UI :D

From what i read the other races shouldn't be hard to implement considering its only the UI and sounds which need to be added, maybe race specific info for certain things aswell.

The race-specific info is taking a while to write, which is one of the reasons why the game will be released as mods. I know this, coz I did my own version of the Klingon random events, which took ages to do! Most of them are currently being used for the game as far as I know though. :D

The decision to release the game as mods was made waaay back at the start of the project. By focussing on each race individually, the devs thought they would be able to ensure the 'quality' of the mods. It also meant that they could then spend more time on the non-Federation races, because there simply isn't enough canon ships/buildings/info to make the game 100% canon.

Whilst they could have just stolen the stuff from BOTF1 where there was a gap in the ships/buildings/info, they instead wanted to ensure these things felt/sounded as though they were canon, but it takes time to do so.

Races such as the Dominion are the hardest to get ships/buildings/info on, so they will have to make a large bulk of their ships/buildings/info (I'm getting really fed up of typing that :lol:) up from scratch.

Things have changed since then though, because I know that Jig has been working on the Cardassian and Dominion ships for some time now. Also, Dafedz has created several preliminary lists of the structures, ship stats, minor races, and ship names (Federation only) that may be in the game. If you can make such things already, then surely the game is almost ready... :wink:

It is best to consider these lists as works-in-progress, not a definitive, finalised list, as Gavin has another 5/6 weeks of tweaking and changing stuff around, before the game is released.

How do you get in to Dafedz's provate files - oh ye Tal Shiar again :D . I'd have thought you'd do the Romulans not the Klingon Pa'Taq :lol:

I started on the Klingons coz they were next in the list after the Federation. (Federation, Klingons, Romulans, Cardassians, Dominion)

I would have been doing the Romulans next. :wink:

Oh, and to access Dafedz private files...ask Dafedz...or hack his password... :lol:

Why would i want to hack in to Dafedz's site particularly after i admire him for the creation of Trekmania :D
