Hi everyone, I'm encouraging everyone here in the USA to make a donation to the red cross, salvation army, etc for hurricane Katrina relief. Just about everywhere you go, you can donate money. I work for Cingular (cell phones) and we are allowing people to make donations for as little as a penny, and up to as much as they want. Every penny goes to the red cross account for Katrina.
After you make a donation, come back here and post that you've done so. You don't have to put the amount you donated.
Lets hope none of our friends from on here were caught up in it, and hope for the best for everyone.
Thanks.

Great Gturfrey. I'm sure i will donate to the cause as it seems fairly obviously the right thing to do.
No one was to blame for this terrible happening but it clearly shows how a Global super power, no matter how wealthy is nothing compared with the power of nature.

I see your point and I will move my statements to another thread as I share your mourning. I never meant to offend your feelings. I really apologize.
And you are right, where I come from, poeple always tend to search the chances (and reasons) behind a tragedy. The second thought after "god bless them" is always "how can we prevent this from happening again?". I see this may be misplaced here - still this is more a placement issue rather than a political one. I'm always someone who wants to move on and imediatly as to say: Life goes on.

Made a donation when the Tsunami hit South-East Asia, and I will make a donation now. Money, wealth and military power can do little against the forces of nature and innocent people do not have to suffer from it.
I sincerely hope no one lost any close relatives or friends in the disaster.

I had family members there when it hit. ( they lived there) They did get out on about the 3rd day or so.... which was a good thing...
Now they are still in the area, trying to help others and get some clean-up going. I passed along by telephone many of the posts here. I told them about the site and how awesome all of you are and that your from all over the world. They told me they would let it be known that Botf people cared,
and would pass along the news as well as the words of prayer and hope.
Just wanted to let you all know your words have been heard..
( lighter note ) My cousin who lives there thinks I'm nuts for still being a Trekkie, but I just laugh.... better to be a Botf guy, then to be nothng at all.. lol
