I'm a third year student in the field of Biomedical Engineering. It appears to be a rather rare and new field of science (and medicine). It's aim is to engineer mechanical (or biological even!) tools to cure, prognose, etc. people. Or other technical assets to medicine in general. All sorts of scans, CAT, CT, MRI, etc. are our field of expertise. As are mechanical prosthesisses and even chemical antidotes, probes, etc. It's a realy exciting study! Though difficult... |

I'm going to study physics from october. (I'll stay at Hannover with my parents .) It'll presumably take five years for my diploma and another two years for the doctoral level. (And another twenty years for the professorship  )

i was under the impression that it took 4 years to get to masters, then three to get a doctorate, then as soon as you lecture you become a professor. hmm id love to do the lecture circuit |

Not that i can complain i went to Cardiff University, Biochemistry with medical Biochemistry Now starting a Computer Science course at UWE, then on to Bioinformatics somewhere.....Anywhere

Seeing as I don't drink, and I don't actually live in Cardiff, I haven't got a clue what the social life is like with UWIC. I have made friends, but there's not really any point in going out. Besides, i've got you guys and the game! |
