:?: Hey everyone, Im a new arrival to your site, and I was wondering if anyone out there who has the time could answer a few of my questions. I recently dug out my old BotF disk and fireed up the old CD drive to begin my brutal subjectation of the universe. Mid way through game I thought to myself how cool a sequel would be, and checked you guys out. I was wondering just how long your site has been open, how long you guys have spent on what must be a huge project, and when if you have an approxamation, it will be ready( no, im not impatient, i just dont want to be the stupid newb whos asking when it will be ready till someone posts telling me theres a link right in front of my face) Also my game has been giving me a bit of trouble, when i load it and start the program, the screen goes blank like it is starting, then returns to my desktop w/ no game in sight. Do i need a new disk? any info you guys could offer would be helpful. Thanks[/i]

Welcome to the forum Raven.

Have you got windows xp now? If so botf is incompatable, you can fix this with a patch from armadafleetcommand.com

This forum's been going a couple of weeks. The programming's being done by Gturfrey who's been working on the code for a while.

The initial release is expected to be ready by x-mas. The game will begin with only the federation as a playable race, gturfrey has created a race loader which means that any race created by modders can be added as a playable race later. If you want to catch up with the ideas that are being thrown around, check out the request forum. In particular the 'things we all agree on' thread has a full list of everything the regulars have decided should be in the game. A lot of this is being implemented.

If xp isn't the issue with your botf, let me know. My botf has crashed due to many, many different factors over the years. :lol:

Decemeber huh? sounds good. I dont understand the crashes, i played it for a few days, then for some reason, it simply refused to start ever again, ive loaded, unloaded even reverted my drive to try loading at an earlier date. I will take your advice though and im heading to armada command as i type this. So this game will only have the federation huh? should be interesting...lol Ill head over to that agreed topics page as well, thanks for your help, hope to talk to you again soon

No the first BETA version will only have the Federation. But anyway welcome to the forum, hope that you'll also post your thoughts about a new BOTF game?

if you end up at armada fleet command use the network navigation to go to the afc botf site.
