Will this game be out in the next month?
Also I read that it will only have the feds as playable race.. will the rest of the empires/minors be missing ship models?
And how long before it is totally complete? (i.e. with all empires)
Thanks

Yes, as far as I remember it will be out next month.
No, there will be all models, but for a start only the federation will be playable.

Cant wait!!
Just replayed BOTF for 1st time in years.. too easy and simple.
Is this one going to have multiplayer eventually? Or even from the start (with evey human player being Feds?)

Out by next month is a very broad term after all. I've heard this 5-7 weeks term being used for a long time about the release. I understand the developers (god bless them) have alot on and that, but surely a loose release date is doable?
I think alot of people would find it easier to wait for if we had a date to aim at. Even if its off by a few days etc. After all you cant use the 5-7 weeks term for 5-7 weeks can you? after all thats what it feels like now.
I just feel keeping all the fans here, who after all are all hardcore and very thankful for the work the developers have done, in the dark is the kind of thing the big corporate companies do, not fan based developers. Any idea of a release date would be deeply apreciated by us all.
A few screen shots or video would help too, after all how long does it take to take a screen?

Well in the time it takes to take a screen they could be perfecting something else to do with the development of the game :p

We have to give them a good leeway though, we don't want them to rush it

A few seconds to take a screenshot? hardly taking up excessive time is it, i know we dont want to rush the guys, but they have a duty to us the fans, to inform us of thier progress and if the release date is delayed, to take a few seconds from thier time to take sum screens.
I am very thankful of what these guys are doing, all im asking if for the fans, the people who check the boards and site all the time for some update to be given something. With a game like this, as specialist as it is, its not healthy to keep the main fanbase in the dark, thats all im saying. Is it really asking too much? is it really taking the piss? hardly

well i`m glad your thankfull but were do you get the idea we have a duty to you or anyone? that is taking the piss.
there is now roughly 3 weeks till completion, were you got the idea the 5 to 6 weeks has been used a lot is beyond me, at this moment in time all those working on the project are extremly busy, so it may run over the time we have said, if so tough ****, you`ll have to wait. i`ll ask gavin to sort out some screenie when i get a hold of him, but like i said, we are all very busy at the moment.

Completely agree with jigalypuff here, Carott if your so impatient go play botf1 for a bit or read a book or go out side untill the games done as practically everyone here is waiting patiently and are not bugging the devs about screenshots or updates. There doing this for free you know, which there doing alot for a game as big as botf2 AND there not getting paid for it.
If you want it quicker then make it youself.

I dont apreciate how i can ask a simple question and just get flamed for it? whats the deal? I;ve seen this before, when someone asked about the release date and just get hammer by someone then all the kiss asses join alone. All i wanted was the "3 weeks" and yes he'll try to get a screenie.
Was it that hard without having to bite back at me? I understand everyone is very busy, aint we all? Most of us work or study here we all understand deadlines and having little time, so patronising us about your lack of time is taking the piss a little. I really apreciate this whole project, but i think theres something wrong when you ask a simple and perfectly legitimate question and get flamed.
Some people have to learn a thing or two about public relations, just cus you devlop this game doesnt mean your god, and it doesnt mean you cant give a fan some slack when they ask a question.

There is a differance between asking a question and ordering a response grow up and stop moaning like an old lady. The fans are happy as far as im aware at the situation. The team are working hard and thats all that matters. All we do here is help all we can, i have only just started posting now because of all the info in the sticky threads that are out. We all want the game badly so why not join in the disscussions and help?
Btw im sure if you were to post the above to ne one they would "bite back" read your posts, the way you put things across is quite unreasonable

this thread seams useless to me^^ botf is competitionless, so it dont need to be completed before or after civ 4 and may not be compared with other games instead of botf1. so the only duty of this project should be to fulfill our (programmers and fans) hopes to the sequal. i waited for years, i would wait longer if i knew that the game just gets better in this time

Completely agree on that. I know this "game" that came out two years ago. It was called Master of Orion III. The expectations and impatience of the fans were that high (it has been delayed for a few times as well) that it completely flawed when it was finally rushed out of development. They even had the beta-testers sign NDA's to prevent them from speaking about the quality of the game so there would be *some* people buying the game.
Bottom line, if there is anything to learn from this it is that it's better to wait another half year then to have it released while incomplete and flawed.
Thumbs up for the devs! Take all the time you need, guys.

True, i'd much prefer to wait longer and end up with a much beter game. Will there be a review in PC Gamer et al?

Apparently there is <Something> about BOTF2 already on the PC gamer website, but I haven't found it yet.
Jig says Gavin did an interview or something, but i've yet to see it.
That said, the news about the game is spreading...

This may be the wrong place to ask this, but I figure it is similar to topic. However, is this BOTF 2 the same as Rebirth of the Federation that is being discussed on the Armada Fleet Command forums? Or are they two separate things?

I understand that this game is not competing with any other, but I asked out of curiosity as I hope it comes out before civ 4 so I can play it properly.
Civ 4 should kick ass! And probably wont have time to play both.
Nice to hear an update on the time, as it did seem a very long time ago that 5-7 weeks was mentioned, and nothing since. Its hard being impatient as this has so much potential.

Civilization 4. You never played or heard of civ? If you like botf it will probably appeal to your taste. Google it.
