Just wanting to say hi. Glad that this game is coming out soon. But I just have a really quick question. I was playing the original BOTF and the entire game just slows down. Not just the battles, but on the main screen where you control your systems. Is this normal? My computer specs are 3.2 GHz Pentium IV HP, 512MB ram, and a Nvidia GeForce 4 128MB graphics card. I can pretty much run Half-Life 2 with no problems so I can't understand why this simple 2D game is slowing my computer down.

Yes i think this happens to everyone, it sure did happen to me. The mouse movement was especially annoying.
It might be because of memory leaks but i'm not sure.

yeah i had that same problem
i rememebr back when i first got the game i saw a cube roll into space and i sent every single ship i had into that once hex to take on a cube... it took something like 20-30 min to load that battle
it would have been a fast battle, only thing was for every move my ships made it took forever, thankfully i had so many ships it only took 2 turns to unleash all my weapons and take it out

Yep, those are memory leaks, and faulty programming. This happens to everyone.

Hello there!
Pretty sure the patch (v1.0.2 I think) fixed the memory leek problem, at least I've had no issues running the game patched.

it never had been fixed completely, each round takes longer. and how much ghz your computer has is nearly unimportant for speed
mouse lags would be over when you disable system names
