Well, got up this morning and someone's managed to get into my garage and steal my computer, which was sat there waiting for the upcoming house move!
While I have full internet access at work, (hence the post), I have absolutely no ability to play BoTF2 now, until I buy a new computer. Given my current financial priorities, that may be some time. I'm just so thankful Gavin programmed the game to work on **** old sytems, I'm sure I'll be able to pick one of those up some time soon.
It does mean I'll have to live the experience of this demo through you guys. If you get chance while playing, spare a minute to drop some cool tidbits, and maybe a screenie or 2 in this thread, gonna have to be patient I guess!!!
Thanks.

Oh dear, are there no hints or peaces to a thief the police could manage to find out? I'll have one glorious battle to your honor once I got the game!

I shall commence clicking print screen straight away!
...Once it's actually out, of course...
Thieves have no honour, SOM. Just be glad you are most the most honourable SonOfMogh. We will avenge this tragedy for you in the demo!

The police will do nothing! I'm gonna be waiting nearby with my Mek'Leth in case anyone comes back.
What's really really bizarre is all day yesterday I was thinking of getting my PC out of the garage. I spoke to my gf a few times saying I really wanted to get it set up, but we agreed there was no point as we're moving any day. Maybe it was because the demo was coming out today ( ) but I just had this nagging feeling most of the day.

Wow... that's bad news. I really was looking forward in a multiplayer game with you, hope that will still work out. I hope that somehow they will get caught and i hope you get some money from the insurance. I just don't get it why would you steal someone else his property, perhaps that is why i'm more of the Federation type?

Hope that there won't be any problems from now on.

How old was the computer SOM?
If you've had it for a while, the good news is that you'll probably be able to get a better one for half the price of your old one. If it ultra-modern and cost a fortune though...I wouldn't hold my breath.
Perhaps you might want to ignore your girlfriend when it come to your next computer though.

Cost about £350 about a year ago from Curry's, nothing special. Problem I have at the moment is any money that comes in over the next few weeks, maybe months is gonna have to be allocated elsewhere. I've got a few new responsibilities coming up and can't really justify buying a new computer unless I've got loads of spare cash. I'm gonna see if anyone I know has an old piece of **** lying around that I can have for a while, so hopefully we'll all be BoTFing soon.
I was also looking forward to that match iwulff, I can't guarantee how soon, but it will happen.

Got to look into that later. It's my gf's place, I'm not sure what cover she currently has, because up until recently there was nothing in the garage, and it's a flat on the 1st floor. Basically, I've got a tenant in the flat that I own, and I'm living with my gf in her rented place until we get the keys to the new house that we're buying together. Yeah, think that's it..
She has a laptop, you think I'd be able to play BoTF on that?

Cool, I didn't really know much about laptops, I kinda figured you couldn't play games on them. I will try BoTF tonight, if it works then I'm in business! Considering what's been said about Jig's computer, I'm assuming he's fairly confident low spec computers should work ok.
Damn! Thinking there was no chance I could get the demo tonight, I've invited a mate over for a beer.... Good job he's a trekkie.

Well... I can even play HL² and Battlefield 2 on my laptop, so where is the point? I don't even own a desktop computer anymore!

I feel slightly silly now, yet relieved all the same! To think I've been missing out on playing BoTF1 cos my computer was in the garage.

If you lived anywhere near me I could put together a pretty good machine for you from old parts (AMD 1800). Moving to Oklahoma anytime soon?

Oklahoma is doing fine. Gas is down to about $2.50 a gallon ... where it was before Katrina. Oklahoma City is a good sized city. Lots to do but not big enough to have bad traffic.
I actually grew up in the Dallas area and only moved up here three years ago when I got married. I still consider Texas to be home.

Thats **** about the computer SOM, but as others have already said, your gf's laptop should work fine. I've had a laptop for my main computer about a year now, and it plays alot of games that are much more demanding than botf is. I've got my own pc, but its a hunk o' junk (giant paperweight ).
