Well Spock has the most experience, can function as a captain, and just knows a solution to almost anything. So i think Spock is the best XO. Spock should be having his own ship... |

I never understood why after Kirk was promoted they placed Spock as a teacher and not a Starship Captain. But to think about it I have never seen a Federation Starship Captain being Vulcan other then the Enterprise when she was put to a training ship |

Is this about who makes the best XO or who is my favorite, cause I keep thinking about Major Kira singing "Fever" in that holosuite simulation.. Made me see her from a whole new perspective I should catch up on ENT and see more of T'Pol, she seemed like a promising character... I don't remember Spock that well so I'll go for Riker, he was really balanced dispite the occasional fling in Risa or whenever he could get his hands on some hot (female) alien... |

how is riker best XO? 1) captain pricard puts riker in command as hes been turned into a child: the ferengi attack and capture the ship! 2)riker is in command as picard has been assimilated, borg get to earth 3rd and not least picard goes as a prisnor exchange and he loses the ship to a super old BoP need i say more so i voted for kira as she beats up cardies:) |

Quote: The second starship to bear the name Saratoga, the ship was destroyed by the Borg at the Battle of Wolf 359 on stardate 44001.4. It had been commanded by a Vulcan captain and, despite its size, carried civillians. Numerous survivors made it to escape pods, including the first officer, then-Lieutenant Commander Benjamin Sisko, and his son, Jake. Their wife and mother, Jennifer, was killed in her cabin. This is a quote from startrek.com The Federation does know Vulcan captains. Of course they do. Any member of the Federation can obtain whatever rank within Starfleet. I presume that includes Vulcans. Can't look it up now.. Yup you're right. In fact, the Vulcan captain was played by J. G. Hertzler aka Chancellor Martok. I voted for Kira, I always liked her fire. You just knew not to mess with that one. Can't say I liked any of the others. Chuckles was constantly finding ways to undermine Janeway, T'Pol was the least convincing Vulcan I've ever seen, Spock was...boring, and Riker was nothing special. |

I've voted for Chakotay. I just like the character =P Btw, I think there's an episode in DS9 where Sisko and Co. play a baseball match against a vulcan captain and his crew. The thing is that these vulcans where all part of a Fed ship (i think it was a Galaxy) which had a vulcan-only crew. (Again, I THINK ^^) |

How can anybody vote for Riker? Besides obvious inabilities, can you guys spell, "fat Hobbit". Don't take it too serious, I just personally never liked the actor(what was his name again? ;P), I found him diminutive compared to Patrick Steward regarding acting abilites. I never made it, to pity him, since he always seemed to be a moron. Btw. I voted for Spock, but my second vote would go to Kira, she was quite effective as XO. |

Abbs wrote: T'Pol was the least convincing Vulcan I've ever seen. I suppose you did not follow much of Enterprise, Abbs. At first, Vulcan culture in that period was a lot different than Vulcan culture in all the other series. The Syrranite way of live takes over Vulcan culture in the decades past ENT and that is what ultimately becomes the Vulcans as we know it. Before that time, Vulcans are different and in fact not too much different from Romulans. Second, during the third season and the entire fourth season, T'Pol gets addicted to a substance called Trellium-D. This causes her emotions to surface and envokes a tremendous change in the character. During the first two seasons, T'Pol is just a typical Vulcan. Annoying, arrogant, pessimistic. I kinda like how she's become But whether you like it or not, the character itself is well thought-out and in-dept. Just as the entire series, btw. |

I happy to see some ENT love on the board; I really feel not many gave ENT a chance to become part of ST world. I understand that yeah some of the stuff they did was out of time line as we know it, but as far as the franchise goes Paramount has the right to make the history go the way they see fit. Most of the information we have about the ST time-line is based off of TV fact and speculation that we all have agreed on. I really think that ENT was an attempt to fill gray areas about the linage of the ST universe. I think most people did not like the show because it did not give us another TNG/DS9/VOY feel but it took a low-tech feel to the show when Starfleet was young and the ships the Federation had were not as strong and domineering as we know them to be in other shows. ENT was to be taking as if you did not know the outcome of Starfleet. The audience never caught on to the now and then factor of the show. I really hope that ENT is not the last we see of Star Trek on the TV screens. |

Personally I think the fact that in ENT everything is so primitive and chaotic gives it that much charm. It resembles real life very much and besides, it is a future I personally think would be even a realistic one. I still cannot remember in the episode 'Silent Enemy', where Enterprise gets attacked by some unknown Romulan-Like ship and Reed fires a 'torpedo' which gets blasted each time by some sort of point defense phaser or bounces right of the shield of the ship. The Punyness of starfleet was just hilarius at the time! But seriously; the series is different than the other ST series. The true reason for that is that it was meant to target a wider audience, thought it turned out to be disaster for the hard-core fans. But as a hardcore-fan myself I just realy liked it. They had good stories, good action and a nice setting. Not everything needs to be the same. |
