Well i haven't brought this whole "when is the game out? ca we get some updates etc" for a while. But its been a few weeks and we got no info. I know the team is busy and has personal issues, dont we all tho!
When the demo was meant to come out before it was a few days from release? surely this delay of nearly a month we should have the first installment of the game soon!?
I think its the not knowing which gets to people. I comeon this site a fwe timea a day and see no updates, no info, if im lucky a screen of a nearly done ****. I really dont wanna piss off the guys behind botf II or thier gang of kiss asses whom love to flame me, but can we get any updates on a release for the game, im not pushing for it to be done quicker, just an idea of a timescale!?

Well personally and this is my opinion ONLY not of the team or offical but. I'd probably say it will be a few months as gav is real busy with moving soon so once he has moved and settled in he will probably get back to the game. No idea if he is still doing it in the mean time but I can imagine he has almost no free time due to packing and moving and sorting stuff out.

a few things here mate, first is mind the profanity, used in the way you just posted is inflamatory and needless.
the second, do not attack other forum members in any way. the last time this happened i had to rebuke a fair few people and i do not want a repeat of this.
finaly, as i have stated time and time again, when there is some news i will let people know in the following two ways. posted on the front page, and mass e-mail to all members, so there you go, you no longer need to visit the site twice a day, you can just wait for the e-mail ok.

Say this again and your ass is banned from these forums as you have been warned about these "abusive" posted topics. One warning was enough there is no second warning!

Yeah, Carrot, we just have to assume that there is no news. The team aren't cruel. I'm sure they would give us information if they had it, and thats what Jig says

while i have been wondering myself, my life doesnt revolve around waiting on this game. i dont see y it should do so with the devs. I especially dont see y you deserve a update. ur not paying and by the lokos of things your post count says you have contrubed very little...
personally if i was skeeter id have banned you by now. You are correct in asking definately, but not in that way.
Guys what he means i think is, the demo was due on saturday and that was cancelled, but at the time it was meant to be in the final testing stages. So cant you release it to a few of the high posters and let them filter their impressions down?
but im hapy to wait, but knowing something new about it would be nice.

Carrot as i've found out before, if you haven't got anything nice to say don't say it.
I'm sure 99% of the members completely trust the devs and moderators. They do have to have a life you know

Nice Sig Trekboy ,
I suppose i can sympathise with Carrot in some ways, i geuss he is just as eager as everyone else, though perhaps a bit abrassive at times.
I did originally find it disappointing that it didn't come out, who wouldn't, but as was mentioned before me my life doesn't necesarily revolve around this game lol.
When it's done it's done.
Though i would love to pic Jturfeys brains on how he wrote the Ai for the game as i have to write a Dissitation on the subject this following term .

"nearly done ****" is nearly done ship, no doubt the frustration had a part to play in that mistake.
i dont use bad language on these boards, if anyone took the time to think about it they would see that sentence didnt make sense with "****".
Also, im no expert, but no one seems to care about the fans of this game, i know theres alot of Yes people who are going to say what ever to not upset the people behind this game. But the PR has been terrible, i know there have been set backs and unfortunate events, but an update on the homepage and keeping your fans informed is basic stuff.
Seeing as i dont need friends online its not going to bother me, so thats why i am blunt as i am, cus no one else is going to say it, even if alot of people are thinking it.
ACTUALLY you do owe everyone on this site, not saying you owe me anything, but there are people who care about this game alot, and YES you do owe it to them to keep them informed and not keep them in dark, like the big corperate machines we all love to hate.
If i have to take a flaming and be hated to get some answers then so be it, seems to have worked before, no one asks on this site then no one gets.

i have told you before, we owe nobody anything, we give of our free time, we give effort, and what do you do? whine, complain, and just bug the hell out of me. you say you don`t use bad language on these boards, perhaps you should reread your post, it contains the word piss, which is profanity were i come from, you say we do not care about the fans? if this is the case why have i made mods for botf and released them? why did i spend weeks doing a dominion ship pack for everyone to download? tell me this what have you done for the fans? i will not make progress updates as there are none to make, like it or lump it.
change your attitude or be gone, it`s your choice.

one other thing, you say people care about this game a lot, don`t you think we do as well seeing as we are going to all the trouble of making it.

Hold on people!
Ok, i like most people have been following this game ever since a friend told me about this over a year ago. And again like most BOTF fans could not wait for it to be made and released.
So some time passed and news postings on this site became less and less frequent, so i thought maybe (unfortunately like many projects) it had just not come together which i can understand totally as iv worked on mods and work in the gaming industry myself. For every successful mod there are many more that never quite get finished thus banished to the dungeons of obscurity.
However then there was a floury of news activity within a span of a month. Hope.
The point that our forum favorite Carrot is trying to make is that if infact the game (or demo) was only a matter of days from being released originally then surely there wasn't all that much to do. I doubt that there is a single person that will say a game should come before "real life". All it would take is a news posting to the effect of "Game release delayed for at least xx months" so that eager fans can get some information.
And your right, given that this is a non-commercial project that members are giving up their free time to do, you owe fans nothing. But having made the announcement about the demo being just days away from release there should be some responsibility shown and keep eager fans informed.

I am ready to wait a bit longer, if that means that dev team will not sacrifice anymore their regular jobs where they are paid. As a hobby-programmer, I know how it is with such projects, but it is a bit dangerous to neglect other life's matters. Let us be patient, it will only turn out better then.

@Carrot: I understand that you want this game finished, just relaxed now. I can ensure you all that Jig and Gav have put a lot of effort into this game and that this game will get a releas. I will close this thread because there is only two ways in which it can go, flaming or useless posting.
