Ok so this is the first of the 'One question a week' threads. This is where we think up a whole bunch of questions about the game, then we vote on the questinon we want to be answered the most, then the question with the most votes will be answered by the devs.

Now this is a test run, keep that in mind and be patient.

This is how it will work:

We propose questions from Moday to Friday, then Vote on Saturday and Sunday, then the question with the most votes on Sunday evening will be answered.

So, please post you questions.

Before someone asks -- PLEASE DON'T use this thread as a place to ask about dates of release for the demo, beta or full game. The Devs have already said it'll be released when its ready, and not before.

I know of two questions submitted for this week:

1) Does Gavin agree to one question a week? -- jigalypuff
2) Does [the Gui] use a proprietary UI toolkit (based on DirectX?), Windows? Forms, or something else? Will it be themeable, and if so, programmatic or based on pixmaps? [Will it be] Scaleable? -- mstrobel

Of the two, Jig's question is the most practical first question.
I vote for it.

the gui are in jpeg format, non scalable i believe. so yes they are themable and the whole game is based on the .net framwork so windows and direct x is nessacary for the game anyway.

Yea, that would make sense to make sure he either agrees to it, or appoints someone else with knowledge of the status to handle it for him...

Personally I think it would be a good idea (if he agreed) to appoint someone to handle it for him.. he's already handling development, so he's probably swamped.

another thing about the ui, the main ui pics i did were 800 x 600 but the res for the game is 1024x768 so thats probably the best sixe to make any as rescaling always leads to a loss of quality.

also when there are a few questions i willl edit the post so we can vote POLL style.

I think Iwulff said he was gonna be doing the question-running to Gavin for us anyway? :?

He created an email account for us anyway - iwulff_botf2@yahoo.com.
