10 years?

wouldn't buy that for a second, folks. Paramount wait that long, and they risk too many people ('lite' fans) forgetting about it, not caring any more, along with even some more hardened fans. Something more appropriate, like 2 years, maybe 3, and everyone still remembers it, "seems like yesterday, but darn, come to think of it, I really miss that old series!"

Like I said elsewhere, I'll bet anybody big bucks it won't be no 10 years. Hell, I'll be middle aged then! that just doesn't hurt the fanbase, it hurts the ability to recruit people with previous Trek experience -- they could've died or retired by then.

Yes they assumed people were sick of trek when really most people just didnt like enterprise.

I hope they do make another one. Good thing is Battlestar Gallactica is so great its keeping me going that and watching Firefly and Serenity. I hope that the star trek team will take note from shows like that and make something better.

Personally i only liked TNG and DS9 although i watched all of voyager and Enterprise i never really liked them.

IF current Trek has deemed as an unmarketable failure in its current guise, then that is precisely what they will want.

A totally new start a number of years down the track will generate the TNG style excitement for new Trek that has been missing since... well... TNG.

50th anniversary, new Trek. In the meantime, money will continue to be made from DVDs and merchandising, and maybe, if rumours are to be believed, just maybe, one last shot at a TNG movie. otherwise, i wouldn't be holding my breath waiting if i was you...

rumours abound that patrick stweart is in talks with paramount regarding the next flick.

new crew (well predominantly), familiar captain and a familiar ship.

takes a risk, but a relatively safe one... errr... if that makes sense.

All my m8s who dont like trek.... which to be honest is all of them... like the older treks, People always say it but its true, they were great movies. They had a formula in those films of action and scale which worked, they have been lacking this in the new movies, bar first contact.

If they want to re-vitalise the franchise they need a great movie to get people thinkin about trek agian, get it bk on the agenda, a good movie in the box office means plans for a new trek series! Thats the key and that will determine when and what type of new series we'll see

It is extremely hard to entice people to go to a movie such as star trek unless they are fans of the franchise no matter how big of an epic they make it. When the fans go see it and recommend the movie to non-trek fans; rarely will they make the move to view it. to grib a new group of people this is by making a small epic mini series this is the way they should look into bringing anything back, because people that are not trek fans are going to be more willing to view something on TV then go to the movies and spend money on it. Possibly following after mini series a movie to tie into the mini series to add either a closure or a build up to a new series, after viewing the response to those. Then if the demand being high enough to run a new full 7 season series ramped from the movie/mini series.

i watched them on one site... the first few were terrible, but after 5 or 6, they actually got pretty good... acting suffered lol but the story line was quite good and the graphics were incredible.

i watched the first episode of season 6. and yes, the graphics for the space battles were superb - absolutely top notch in fact - but the acting... omg the acting... it was so bad it was laughable.

What, you want to be in Star Wars episode 7 or something...?

...

I don't see what harm sending emails to the big companies could do. If they feel there is enough support, they would probably start showing TOS, trekkie2114.

I haven't got Sky myself, but I sent an email nonetheless.
