The development has progressed slowly?! It's only been a year and three months so far! Some games can take years to develop - if anything, I think BOTF2 is coming along really quickly, especially since there have been delays due to deaths and holidays! But yeah, it's pretty cool that BOTF2 is on there, even if there's only one sentence about it. Still, at least there are links. I wonder who wrote it though...? |

lol those comments were a bit harsh - who reckons that it's going too fast or too slow? |

it says development is progtessing slowly like all fan based projects, i did`nt think it was harsh, just realistic given the delays we have had, are not the sort a company would have. |

So you're the one that wrote it Jig? Cool. At least it was written by someone who knows the nuts and bolts of the game then - so either way, it was a fair assessment. Heh, and I see it's been edited since I last read it... I'm not gonna comment on the editing though, in case a certain someone is offended... |

Oh... Well like I said, i'm not gonna comment on it in case people are offended - which they are. We can always edit it as much as we like though - that's the beauty of Wikipedia; we can be merciless with guys like that! |

the FAQ on this webpage is not really up to date. why don't we replace it with a wiki-entry which everyone could update ? |

It seems that the temporal police either hit this topic, or that post about Botf2 has been removed or possibly never existed. |

the info about BotF II in the wiki's BotF page has been deleted anyone who is up to date on the features of BotF II and their progress could make a wiki page about it. |

Romulous, are you saying that you wrote it? You really know how to annoy the moderators, don't you? ... Billy, since the info on BOTF2 is gone, I was talking about Gavin, since the post seemed to quite heavily criticise him. I wouldn't want to insult him to the point that he stopped making the game! 8O ... Wikipedia is open to anyone to edit - in fact, I edited the BOTF2 entry myself, before it was deleted. (I never deleted it though) I did a spell check on it... |

Sorry about that then, Romulous. A case of mistaken identity. You'll have to think of your own way to annoy Jig... As I said before, perhaps we should write our own Wikipedia entry? Afterall, if we write it, we won't be offended - and we might be able to get a few to come to the site if it's up there... |

Well we'd have to "police it" it, I suppose - "access denied!" And Billy, if you have to know, I was brainwashed by an English teacher. |

you can simply hold a copy here on this forum, with the text. If anyone deletes stuff you can paste and copy it. Now to be sure you better also have a copy on your harddisk. |

Post subject: | Re: Wikipedia |
I like the idea of a wikipedia entry. We can update it as new developments occur too.. and continuously edit ourselves in at least as a link or a mention in the BOTF one as well. I scoured a few of the edits and saw where it disappeared, pissed me off being described as 'vaporware'. Duke Nukem (Taking) Forever, thats vaporware. Even the company developing it make jokes at it themselves. While on the one hand, a year ago there was promises of a beta/demo by Christmas, but I always figured that was over the top anyway for a from-scratch game. Even if this was two or three years in full development (various beta test versions, etc), it still would be on par with the development time of other games. Some, like the Battlecruiser series, have spent 13 years or longer in development! And if nothing else, we have a little piece of music, an old database, and a few bits and pieces inside the forums up. if this forum were dead, then I'd understand 'vaporware', but nothing is dead at all. Just an over-worked dev team is all. |

Post subject: | Re: Wikipedia |
I've got a <slightly> newer version of the Database, you know... I know, i'm always raving about it, but it is newer than the one on the site, so some work has been done since the Database has been put up. I'm wondering if the Wikipedia entry would end up like TWAAO though... |

Post subject: | Re: Wikipedia |
I think it is a good idea to add a wiki entry, but we would have to make it factual and (un)opinionated. Some sort of tech log or timeline would be that the way to treat it |

that's what i'm asking for but we would need an insider to do that |

Post subject: | Re: Wikipedia |
if anyone still cares about this, I recently rectified the information about the games on the site, i.e. I erased the part with gavin's game and started right away with supremacy. Since jig's game will most likely be rts, I don't know how to bind it in the text so I leave that up for jig to do if he wants. nevertheless I must say that it's not for granted that we are still in there since in the german version of the page, nearly all botf2 links went vapor besides the one to http://www.botf2.com .. |
