Post subject:  A species I always wondered about.

Hi everyone, for those who dont know me i am not really a trek fanatic but i am a fan, i have watched all of TNG and DS9 all of Voy but hardly any of TOS and ENT.

Back to my question, back in the days of the gorn etc there was a race, i think they were situated between the Kling/Rom's and a little above the federation. They are an extinct race (i only know them from a map i found on google of the alpha quad) I was wondering how they became extinct and if they used to be a major power. Also any info on them you can give me.

Ill try hard to find the map im on about to help explain what im on about :P

I also found this map. It focuses on the "top" or "north" of Federation, and there's a bit of Romulan and Breen space in there as well. But if anyone else (Like me) has played a Starfox game, they will probably want to know why the Lylat system is there... (Grid 3,3) :lol:

There has NEVER been a 100% fully accurate Star Trek map, which is why all these maps show differences. Even the Star Trek Star Charts has some apparent inaccuracies!

The maps are not accurate because all the species havent been reaveled and they dont now the acsect location of all species homeworlds...so its hard to make a correct map

Billy, the Iconians were a powerful, ancient race, that was said to have the ability to appear at any given place they chose - WITHOUT the use of Starships. They died out at the very height of their civilization - about 200,000 years ago - when their Planet was bombarded to kingdom come by their enemies.

MOE do you have any info on the other extict races i posted? and btw that second to last map is great if you click the arrows it takes you all around the alpha beta quads :) you can see it all.

Also where the hell are the breen acturly located? in some maps there above the cardys and some there below!

Also i never knew the feds had space on the other side of klingon space :p

To be honest, I didn't notice the arrows on that map, RomHAVEYOUlan! :oops:

As for the Breen, I always thought that they were "above" Cardie space, but I don't have anything to back that up with. As you say, all maps are different, depending on how much care and time was taken to make them, and what their reasons are.

Many of the "Empires" in the maps i've never heard, of myself.

And as for the Feds having space on opposite sides of another Empire, i've seen several maps like that, but it just doesn't seem tactically sound to me. What happens if the Klingons decided they wouldn't allow Fed ships to travel through their space? The new fed space would be completely isolated and defenseless! Even if the Feds could send ships around Klingon space, they would still take several weeks to get there... 8O

thanks. i seen them already. i think i just want something new evrey day like everybody else. i sign up just 3 weeks ago and i'm impatient for the game :D i don't want to think how the older members feel.

The game has been in development for a year and four months now, and I signed up to the site about 3 months after it was launched. The ideas behind the game have certainly changed since i've been here, and a lot of people have come and gone from the site.

I used to talk quite a lot to people on the site such as SonOfMogh, CVN-65, and OmniQ, and the game would be completely different were it not for their original input.

But the games' community is growing, and new people are joining all the time. It's good to see new people like you guys participating in the forums, instead of hiding away in the shadows like most people are... Image
