Honestly, i think thats a very fine deisgn Jig. One possible point, is that i think the nacelles are a little off colour - too turquoise from my pov

Looks like a good secondary hull to me. Though I think this rounded thing in the middle is not a very romulan bridge section. There are two options imo:

- Try to accept the bird-like design pattern of the glorious romulan navy and try to get it a bird more like a bird's head. (At least a bit more streamlined.)

- If you intend to try out a new design line you should avoid this wing-like arrangement of the warp nacelles. Again: You have to decide if it's a bird or not. If it's not, neither part of the ship must be.

Yeah, now it looks like a D'Deridex prototype. Could be a medium cruiser or a fast attack frigate (if it's installed as a smaller version relative to the warbird).

Have we thought about the predecessor to the Warbird - circa 2344?

These are the Warbird's that destroyed the Enterprise C

Personally i like the nacelles but not keen on the warbird hull mainly the top and bottom bits, head looks ok tho. If you want try removing the bottom of the hull and concentrate on the top curve of the hull. That should make it more unique and new design i reckon.

Romulan ships are a bitch to keep low poly cos there nothing but curves usually. So goood luck dude and ill look forward to the updates.

With the addition of the bridge, I think the first model looks good. Did you have a ship type in mind for it, jig?

Good designs, only critisism is that the texture applied to it makes it hard to recognise the shape as easily.

i rely like that new design!!!!! so good (being honest) i dont mind the other one but i think it should be longer. It seems little small but otherwise brillient. By the way jig what program you use to do that? pm telling us please!

I let my sister do her coursework just this once, and I miss out on a thread like this!

I like the general design of the ship - but I agree with the guys. If it's gonna be a <Very early> Warbird prototype, then keep the double-wing design.

If it's simply gonna be a different class of ship, then lose the bottom section, so it is a single-winged design instead.

Either way, I think both designs should have some sort of bridge/head section though.

Is the panelling a texture or part of the model Jig? If you remove them, and apply the panelling as a texture, you could lower the poly count of the ship.

...

Your future ship looks quite evil actually. It looks like some sort of fighter/attack ship, sort of like the kind of ship that Picard flies around the Scimitar - just much bigger.

I particularly like the tail on it.

It looks nice.
I've noticed that most of the Romulan ships are based off of the one they use in TNG though. Personally I don't think it looks as cool as their earlier design. If your looking for new ships, it wouldn't be a bad idea to base a few on that one (the one from TOS), I'm sure the Romulans didn't suddenly start using the green menace.
Also for a while the Romulans used D7s, if you haven't already included them. TOS Era.

@ Smith, I would get rid of them pictures you posted of the romulan Bop quick smart as this thread is not for posting reference pics or other ppls models and no request pics, someone did this and was warned so im warning you before jig sees this as it really pisses him off and i dont blame him.

Btw if jig doesnt do the romulan bop i fancy a stab at that as its a sorta favourite of mine.

Thanks for the warning, I just wasn't sure anyone here knew what I was talking about. I think most of the people here havn't seen TOS at all, and the Romulans only showed up twice I think. They just needed to see how cool it is. Sorry about that.

I concur whit most that as been said. If it's a early warbird, then keep the double wing configuration... Base desing is truly nice.

but one thing that seem a little bit odd. The bridge section seems disproportional and quite small compared to the rest of the hull ...

any comment on this ?

Is the panelling a texture or part of the model Jig? If you remove them, and apply the panelling as a texture, you could lower the poly count of the ship.

The paneling is just a bump map, so no extra polys there.
@captain billy bacon i use 3d studio max.

That's good to know. It would be a shame if you had to butcher your model simply because the polies were too numerous! :(

You know what I think of your model, Skeeter...still haven't found the source of your info yet though! :P
