The purpose of this post is to maintain the "memory" of our old combat system, which was developed by Strings. He is no longer an active member of these forums, and so his combat system is no longer under development. It's a fun little demo though, where you get to blast Asteroids apart with the USS Defiants Pulse Phaser weapons. Even better is the fact that the Asteroids blast apart into ever-smaller pieces as you blow them up.

To play the game, you must have the and a minimum of installed. Newer versions of the XNA framework are available however, and the combat system works with all current versions fo the XNA framework. You therefore do not need to worry about compatibility if you have a newer version of XNA installed. Here are the download links if you want the newer versions, however:



If you can play the latest version of Supremacy, you've already met the .Net installation requirements. You will still need to install the XNA Framework however as Supremacy itself does not require this. Failure to meet both requirements will result in the Demo simply crashing when you try to run it.



Now that you've met the installation requirements, you can download Strings' Combat Demo from

Unlike Wolfe's Combat System, you do not need to place the files in a specific folder. Simply place the files wherever you want, then click the file called "Practice.exe" to load up the Combat Demo.



Please remember that Strings' Combat System is no longer under development. If you encounter any problems, post about them and we will try to help you. If you find an actual bug though, then it's unlikely to get fixed. We do not currently know of any bugs with Strings' combat system though, so there's no need to worry about this.
