BEFORE THIS GOES INTO THE GAME: ITS HIDEKI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Otherwise they're very good and are well worthy in the BOTF II fleet

Good ships Jig! Keep it up. Just curious, which other ones are you working on?

I think the Galor is perfect! Why would you wanna decrease the polys on it and risk losing the detail?

I agree with that post. Whilst it looks gorgeour the colour should be more yellow and there shouldn't be quite so much of a distinction between the light and dark paint. Not that it's a big deal, looks good anyway.

I just assumed that the colour differences were shadowing effects...
I agree about the Hideki being 'too green' though.
...
Are you back with us permanently, SOM, or are you planning a fourth spiritual slaughtering of Jem'Hadar?

Great work jigalypuff. I think there should be a balance between detail and speed. Perhaps ship packs can be released at a later date for those of us with more powerful computers able to handle high poly ships? that would sort the problem.
Still, the old BOTF had absolute desperate coding and got slow on the most monser of PC's, if this game is coded right most PC;s of this age should be able to handle the game surely. This game should be made with the majority in mind, not the minority. Later ship packs with less detailed ships would therefore be a good option?

I'd say the first two are excellent... It must be apparent the the polyies are highly important, effecting speed vs view.
the "enterprise scout" I must agree does look like a type of backward Cardi ship. I'm no expert.. Is that how they were?
I do like the frontal design though. Nice overall shape. Just think the back end needs top be err "more Freerationish" what ever that really is.. lol

I don't recall seeing that federation ship in any Enterprise/StarTrek show. It does look a bit like a Cardassian ship, because Federation ships (nearly) always had nacelles. The typical Federation nacelle, is a sign "oh.. that's a federation ship". First cardassian ships look really good, i don't know if the texture/colour of the Hideki is correct, but it defintly looks great. Excellent Work Jig!

Jeez Matress, you have been a busy boy!
I'm back now for good, will find half hour a day to post here and keep up to date. It's a crazy time lately but nothing will take away from the excitement of BoTF2.
That Cardie scout looks pretty good Jig, all I'd do if I had your expertise would be to 'mottle' the hull slightly. Cardie ships look dirty and weathered, a little bit of slightly darker colour, randomly painted onto the hull will make it look far more realistic.

You didn't think i'd sit around whilst you were vanquishing those Jem'Hadar, did you SOM?
...
I agree the 'old' Cardassian Scout could benefit from some hull panelling. I like the fact that it has relatively few windows as well. As technology improved, and ships got bigger, it would become easier to add windows. An old ship would have relatively few, because of the technology constraints/safety issues that would come with having them.
I like the fact that it has the 'pylons' that most Cardassian vessels (And Stations) have, but they are small and flimsy-looking. It adds to the feel that it is an old vessel. Good work Jig!

And yes, the detail on the Hideki was more along the lines of what I was thinking.
So what ships are next?

I think the Cardassian ships have the perfect shape, particularly the Galor class. Well done. In the old BOTF, the galor did not look right.
I have one point of contention though and that is that the colour seems a little too yellow for my taste.
Here is a picture of a Keldon class heavy cruiser and its colour should be the norm for most Cardassian vessels being somewhat more orange-tinted than the current textures.
The increase in orange will also bring out the yellow in the Cardassian beam weapons. An effect lost with the current colour scheme.

Now i see your point - i think thats the colour for all Cardassian ships. Threfore we should try to make the colour of the models as much like that as is possible. The actaul designs seem perfect to me; i have no quarms about that

The back looks like its got more things on than the shows, i thought keldons were galros with just raised mid sections? Nice model btw.
