Me and a friend were affilated, and attacking the klingons. I was the Romulans and he the cardassians. We both had troop transports with our battle groups. When the system was attacked, my troop transport was used to take the planet, but the cards got the system. (While their transport was still alive)
As a test, we did this on another system, and he got the system again, but this time at least he used his TT.
Anyway...anyone have this happen?
In another note, we took on the Edo Guardian with a Starbase, and thirty some odd ships. That was funy. I got screenshots if anyone is interested.

That's never happened to me...my Star empire never has any use for allies...
Show us the pics though, I love to see pics of big battles!
Wish I had pics of the big battles that i've had, but crashing computers and technology-illiterate sisters are incompatible with my needs... :lol

all sorts of wierd **** can happen ingame, example id just welcomed a minor race into my empire and started to terraform all the unpopulated planets, in my dazed stupor i selected the "colonize" instead of the "terraform" and i colonized an already populated system, this has only ever happened once as far as i know,

If you find bugs like that, then they are easy to change. (With the right programs of course)
I once set it so that I ended up with a +44000% research bonus! I was getting a new future tech every turn!
It's great the things that you can get games to do once you mod them!

I'd like to see those screenshots if you still have them.

Ooh excellent...show us if you find them.
If you have trouble putting them up on the site, set up a photobucket account, and they will host the pictures for you.
http://photobucket.com/register.php
When you load your pics on that site, just copy what is in the 'Img' box. Paste that into the image details of a post, and away you go!

We won. I (the romulans) took the brunt of the attack, lost my starbase and about half of my ships but that is only because I decloaked. My ally complains because when I'm cloaked, he gets wailed on.
I ended up winning by the powergraph....and this was the game (that some of you may remember me complaining about) that my TT's capped the planet but he won control of it.
All this talk makes me want to play again!
But got Civ 3 games we have to finish first.

Thanks for finding and posting those pics!
Question: I can't remember how to take a screenshot like that. How do you do it?

I press Print Screen and then Alt Tab to a graphics program and paste it.

Same here. (Once people had told me how to do it, of course - I asked the same question as you a couple of months ago, CaptJbird)
I find that a good program to use is Irfanview: -
http://www.irfanview.com/
Luckily, it lets you convert file types - make sure all your pictures are in the .jpg format - I found that this website doesn't allow you to put up pictures in the default .bmp format!
Thank MajorDiarr for letting me know about it!

The GIMP is a better program, but a little tougher to use.

I've heard of that program before...thought it was a joke coz of the name...guess I was wrong...
Ah well, use whatever program you want, CaptJbird.
*Edit - 1,000 posts and counting! And they said it couldn't be done! *

I don't know about the other programs, but irfanview is only about 4 or 5 meg - out of 40 gig, that's nothing!
Fair do's though, if you need it for work, never mind.

...Some people are just overkill...
Armada is well worth having as a game - there is a HUUUUGE amount of mods and downloads out there for both Armada 1 and 2.
I've already added in 4 ships for the Romulans, 3 for the Federation, and one for the Klingons.
I've lost count of the number of weapons i've downloaded as well!
The stats are the easiest things to mod though. Uber Scouts? Not a problem! Super fast Battleships? Warp speed!
Ooh, and i've added in some heavy weapons platforms for each race as well. (Except the Romulans - their download is missing a file)

Wow! I had the first one. Did not know there was a second or even mods for them! Impressive!

You didn't know...?
Have fun then:
http://205.209.171.51/afc/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=140#cat
You will need to login to the site first off. Try using the exact same username/password that you have for this site (They are part of the same thing) If that doesn't work though, just create an account.
There are a massive number of mods for Armada1 on the site. I've found that some of the mods for Armada2 also work on Armada1, so have a go adding them in. As well, even if they don't say.
Adding stuff to Armada can be a bit of a long-winded process, and can be hell if no help file comes with the mod (Usually does, but not always)
Let me know if you have any problems installing the mod (Sadly, you have to do it manually) or you can just post on the armadafleetcommand.com site for help.
Happy modding.
*Edit - if you simply just want to change the stats of the ships, download the ODF files from the page that I linked to, and put them in your 'addons' folder.
Make sure the files you want to edit have read only NOT checked, and then you can edit them to your heart's content!
For reference, the files that you need to edit are coded with letters. The firat letter means the race, and then the next part specifies the ship, for example:
Bbattle = Borg battleship = Cube
That's how it is worked out.
B = Borg
F = Federation
K = Klingon
R = Romulan
Ships
Const = Construction ship
Freighter = Dilithium Mining Ship
Scout = Scout (Eg. Venture)
Destroy = Destroyer (Eg. Defiant)
Cruise1 = Weak Cruiser (Eg. Akira)
Cruise2 = Strong/Artillery Cruiser (Eg. Steamrunner)
Special = Special Cruiser (Eg. Nebula)
Battle = Battleship (Eg. Sovereign)
NB - Special ships, like the Enterprise-E, Sela's Warbird etc. Are listed as race initial, then the actual name of the ship.
Stations
Mining = Dilithium Mining Station
Base = Starbase
Yard = Shipyard
Yard2 = Advanced Shipyard
Resear = Research Facility
Resear2 = Science Station
Sensor = Sensor Grid
Turret = Weapons Platform (Pulse)
Turret2 = Advanced Weapons Platfrom (Torpedo)
NB - Technologies are labelled like the races, except their initial is a 'G', followed by the (Shortened) name of the technology. (Eg. gamine = antimatter mines)
Hope this helps you*
