Okeey i just opened this thread to talk about new movies that are worth to buy (or to download that is) or to see in the cinema* (*or whatever it's called).

There is one problem, US movies are sometimes earlier released in the US then in other parts of the world. So don't post any spoilers!!!

Anyway on the list for me are:
StarWars III
Kingdom of Heaven

What do you think of these movies..

Does this thread include films you have seen? (To recommend to others)

If yes, then YOU HAVE GOT TO SEE HITCHIKER'S GUIDE TO THE GALAXY!!! (If no, i'm sorry)

I'm not sure if I want to see SW3 - I haven't seen number two yet (!)

And Kingdom of heaven...looked frankly girly in the first advert I saw of it! The advert was all lovey-dovey (ie. NO battles) although every other advert I have seen since has been aspiring to return of the king (Lord of the rings style battles) so it looks better than my first view of it.

By the way, I have seen Sahara. It's a good film, but there are some glaring plot holes, so go in with an open mind. (Also, if you like old fashioned cars, and other equipment of a generally old state, I advise you to NOT see this film! There are cringeworthy moments if you like those sorts of things!)

Well, it isnt out yet, but I definately plan on seeing SW3. While I cant say for certain, I've heard its going to be much more action oriented and violent. You get to see how whiny ass Anikin gets all messed up, and is forced to be in the Vader armor. It should be good. :)

The last movie I've seen that I would recomend to others would be Sin City. Great movie. A little dark, but I loved it.

Well i haven't seen Sin City or Sahara. But what do you guys think of the film unleashed with Jet Li? Kinda thought that the trailers on tv were funny. "You are my dog!" and that kind of stuff  Also i will deffiniatly go and see SW3, can't wait... i have all five of them at home, and i wanna see this one for sure. I just don't really like how someone should be absolute good turn into somebody bad ... really first everyone has to die, before there will come balance...

I dunno if this is a spoiler
Did you guys noticed 2/3 times when Yoda looked weird to that palpatine guy, in movie 2?
END OF SPOILER

Just a question, does it keep people from looking, when you put such a spoiler part in your post? Just curious because i was once on a forum which had perhaps... ½ of their post in spoiler black...

What, you mean writing everything in black? Never thought of doing that...

I suppose I could do the rest of my post like that from now on...wouldn't want to spoil my post for other people...

I honestly don't mind things containing spoilers, as long as I am warned before hand, of course.

It's up to people to decide if they want to read it or not. They can just select it then.

Perhaps you should include a spoiler alert emoticon, iwulff? That could help solve the problem.

Speaking of spoilers, I could probably spoil the whole third movie if I really wanted to, I read a book a while ago that esentially was episode 3. If it follows that book, the third movie should be great.

Since this next part could be considered a spoiler, I'll follow suit and cloak my message.

Do any of you guys know about General Grievous? He's a powerful cyborg working for the Sith who absolutely hates Jedi. From the few stories I've read about this guy, he is an absolute badass, who kills Jedi for fun. He fights with a collection of different light sabres that hes taken from the different jedi hes killed. From whats been said, 3 or 4 jedi masters might stand a chance against him. I can only hope they play him up to his full potential in the movie, it would be awesome.

BTW, anyone see the SW Clone Wars mini series Cartoon Network did? It may sound like it was kiddy being on CN, but it was great. Its set inbetween Episode 2 and 3, and it was pretty much packed with action, violence, and that General Grievous being a badass. He downed like 5 or 6 Jedi during the series. Where it ends, is essentially where episode 3 kicks off, so I cant wait. Too bad people are so freakin crazy about this stuff, the movie theatres around me presold tickets to the movie, and they are sold out for the first 4 or 5 dyas already! 8O

And to answer iwulff's above question, when a spoiler alert is placed somewhere, I dont think I can stop myself from looking at it.

Well the official book of episode III was written by a guy called Matthew Stover. What i thought was weird that every book has a different writer??? These are actually books written from the scrips, there are parts in it that didn't made it in the movies but have made it in the books.

Star Wars, Episode 1: The Phantom Menace
by Terry Brooks
ISBN: 0099409968

Star Wars, Episode 2: Attack of the Clones
by R.A. Salvadore
ISBN: 034542882X

Star Wars, Episode 3: Revenge of the Sith
by Matthew Stover
ISBN: 0712684271

Star Wars, Episode 4: A New Hope
by George Lucas
ISBN: 1857239407

Star Wars, Episode 5: The Empire Strikes Back
by Donald F. Glut
ISBN: 1904233295

Star Wars, Episode 6: The Return of the Jedi
by James Kahn
ISBN: 1857239385

I'm actually intressted in reading them..

Starwars ep III is an AMAZING show- there was some bad acting, but overall it was definitely worth the money. especially the special effects...can't say anything bad about the HUGE fleet battle over the planet.

I have seen Kingdom of Heaven as well. it was an OK show, a little boring until the last half of the movie where the battle takes place.

Yeah, i've seen Kingdom of Heaven as well.

It was a pirate, so I missed a bit when changing between CD's, but I was lost anyway.

I just gave up on it after 45 mins.

"Legolas, I am your father. Follow me if you want to go to a place you've never seen before."
"Yes, Qui Gon. I will follow you coz you're my dad, even though I hate you."
...
"Oh wait, you're dead..."
Then I gave up.

If anyone is reading this, I have only one thing to say:

WATCH WAR OF THE WORLDS!!!

It is incredibibble! I saw it yesterday, and by the end, I didn't know if I was shivering from the air conditioning or the film!

So much death...so much destruction...don't watch it if you're a kid!

Fog-horn language? I thought that was just their way of telling, "MOVE THE F*CK OUT OF THE WAY!"

Havent seen War of the Worlds yet, it looks good, but I dont like Tom cruise very much. Hes a schmuck.

Anywho, while I saw it a few weeks ago, Batman Begins is also a good movie. Better than every other Batman movie, except for the first one (not the Adam West one  the Michael Keaton one). If you liked Batman at all, I'd recomend seeing it.

someone speaking bad of adam west... HERACY !!!

yeah i agree batman begins is very slick and the one or two tiny nitpicks are easily overshadowed by how impressive the movie standard actually is.

they could have done a LOT LOT worse

Heh...Batman is a good film...

There's only one thing to say about the Batmobile and that's <shudders of envy>

Rigel, if you don't like Tom Cruise, you'll know there is some bad news by the end of the film...see if you can guess what it is... :?

All the other Batman movies showed us just how bad it could get. As far as Adam West goes, I cant stand those old Batman shows, but he is hilarious as the character he play on Family Guy. If you dont know of, or watch the show, I wont waste time explaining it, I'll only say you are definately missing out on one of the best animated comedies, ever. I think the Simpsons are hilarious, and Family Guy blows them right out of the water. On that show he plays the very crazy mayor of the town. I'd have to say its his best role.

matress, I have nothing against War of the Worlds. The original, although very old, is definately a sci fi classic. Like I said, I just dont like Tom Cruise. So whats the bad news, Tom Cruise doesnt die by the end?

Sorry, I meant to say that "if you don't like Tom Cruise", not "if you don't like War of the Worlds".

I've changed my post now.

Oh, and CVN, Rigel was right, that is the bad news!

I thought that as well (Tom Cruise survives )

You have o remember though, it was based onthe original, so they couldn't make too many changes, or the critics would have complained about the changes!

It was just too abrupt an end, really. I would have prolonged it more personally.

I knew from the start there was gonna be some Deus Ex Machina for the end, but thank God it wasn't something like Independence Day (a 1997 computer virus fools super-aliens)

I know it's been out for a while, but i've seen Fantastic Four, and I thought that was a good film. It's worth seeing, even if you just want to see the effects.

I wonder why similar radiation-induced superpowers like theirs have never happened in Trek...?

I'd always see War Of The Worlds over Fantastic Four. But then its just my knid of thing :D .

NEWS JUST IN - A Max Payne movie is on the cards, i thought that was a dman good game. If anyone has played the game MAFIA - again brilliant, i wonder why a movie never came of that :?:

Personally i wouldn't mind watching that film thats on adverts at the mo, the films called The Cave and they say its the new Alien film. Looks similar in parts and i dont mind if there copying as long as its entertaining so i cant wait to watch that.

If you want to watch old films i recomend the following

Far and Away
all star trek and star wars movies
Alien vs predator
aliens 2
Hero
The Mask
Oceans 11 and 12
28 days later (weird zombie movie a few years into the future)
Underworld

Some anime/manga

3x3 eyes collection
urotsukidoji collection
devil man
guyver
wicked city

Some tv shows on dvd

Blackadder collection mainly s2 and 4
red dwarf collection

Thats should do for the time being i think :)

Throw in a bond film or two, of course.

I've been collecting Blackadder videos (Yes, videos!) for quite a while. I don't get them religiously, but if I see one I don't have, I usually buy it.

A Blackadders' Christmas Carol is definitely worth buying, by the way. (If you haven't seen it, then just try and imagine what it is like, then add a guest character or two, it's brilliant!)

Merry Qweeznaas.
