To tell you the truth, I have never even seen the original series. I started with voyager and then I learned about TNG and started watching some seasons as well.

At this moment I am following Enterprise and it is most likely the greatest series of them all!!! :D Too bad it is cancelled, though.

Sorry, but the imminent lack auf authenticy (just think of all the races appearing in ENT *KIRK* made first contact with). Don't get me wrong - it's Star Trek at least so it is of course good, but nothing in comparison to the four precedessors.

no deep space 9?! :x

it's the best series of all- especially the last 2 seasons. you see the darker side of star trek, with the Dominion War.

Yeah, I know: still should watch that one. I saw some random episodes from that series but never took the time to completely follow it. :(

I have to admit that the newest one, the early ENT just did not interest me.

I tried to watch but fell asleep. ( Bad Winterhawk very very bad!) Slaps own face!!!

TNG was a good premise to DS9 in a way. You see the Federation in the decadent glory of the time - there hadn't been any wars for 70 years afterall. There ws simply only one way to describe the Enterprise - cruise liner.

She was designed as a ship of peace, exploration, and luxury for those on board. I mean come on - children on the ship? I kinda agree with Picard on that point. Ok, so it makes families happier, shows what a wonderful, bright future we have ahead, but if only they knew what was coming...

Deep Space Nine. We get to see the Federation starting to feel the pinch from the Cardassians, as they realise the extent of the horror of the Cardassian occupation of Bajor.

For the first time, we get to see a station and how it works instead of a starship. We meet new races, and see an anomaly in full glory - the Wormhole.

Not only does the series explore a new area of space, it discovers an entire Quadrant! The Ferengi also get remoulded from the apparently evil creatures they were in TNG, into the great money grabbers of the Galaxy.

Then the final two series come along. We see the Defiant do some truly flashy moves, we see the Federation mining the Wormhole, there are totally new classes of ship, we see other stations...if anything, you should watch it just for the battles <shudders of pure graphical pleasure>

Jadzia dies though...

And then Voyager...a ship that gets sent across the Galaxy because an alien is dying. The crew of a Marquis ship becoming integrated into Voyager, Seska, the Cardassian spy, the Kazon, the Vidiians, the Borg, the Timeship/Year of hell (One of the best non-Borg episodes ever) the Doctor becoming an individual, the many attempts to get home, the aliens, the new phenomena, the technologies...i'd have been happy if Voyager had never ended. I really got into it, and the humour in some of the episodes was great. The one where the Doctor started to day-dream...brilliant! There are so many times when you can see the actors trying not to laugh!

Then there is ENT. Watching it from the start...what a dissappointment. It could have been so much better. But something was there...a spark...the spark of life. That's when Enterprise started to get good.

Ok, so they totally mucked around with the Timeline, Temporal cold war and all that, but I really thought they were going to end it with some change that would revert them all to the original timeline...but now they aren't even gonna do that. They CAN'T even do that. :(

So much potential wasted...it's as much the writers fault, as it is the fans. The writers screwed with things too much, and should really have done their homework before they started even scripting it. The fan's loyalty waned too quickly, and most of them missed it getting good. Only now that it has been cancelled, are those fans realising what they have missed, what they have thrown away.

Sadly, it is too late.

...

Woah, that was a bit of a strange post...I really do like Trek, don't I? 8O

Absolutely true, the Dominion war had one of the best episodes and scenes ever, nothing like the rest of Trek. The first REAL war we see, and it's excelent :D Especialy the Battle of Chin'Toka, the Advance on Cardassia, the Battle for DS9, whooo... So many great battles... :P

And re Voyager... All that Matress said is true but my all time favourite it Janeways, "Paris, you little retard" look  ROFLMAO

And the Year of Hell was absoultely exclent, you know there gonna turn back the clock somehow, but I'm glad they did it so well...

And DS9 also won me over in "The Visitor". An excelent time-accident story that doesn't end in technobabble and was excelently written and directed. Actualy touching, too.

Section 21?

Oh yes, the Humans that think they can copy us...what great use they've been, thinking they are protecting themselves!

They have had their uses, and still are. Of course, they'll never know how or why they've been used. That's for the experts to know.
