Heya all,
I just finished looking at BoBW (best of both worlds), once again.
I saw the descemated fleet and descided ild try to figure out which ships where there.

I started with what i knew for certain from the episode itself.
Commander Elizabeth Shelby names 3 star ships.
"The Telstoy, the Kyushu, the Melbourne...."
Doing a bit of research in the Star Trek Encyclopedia, i found the following on those first 3 ships.
U.S.S. Telstoy, Rigel Class Star Ship, NCC 62095.
U.S.S. Kyushu, New Orleans Class, NCC 65491.
U.S.S. Melbourne, Exclesior Class, NCC 62043.

Based on that i descided to look throughout the book to see if other ships where listed as being at the battle. I came up with the following:

U.S.S. Ahwahnee, Cheyenne Class, NCC 62048.
U.S.S. Bellerephon, Nebula Class, NCC 62048.
U.S.S. Bonestell, Oberth Class, NCC 31600.
U.S.S. Buran, Challenger Class, NCC 57580.
U.S.S. Chekov, Springfield Class, NCC 53702.
U.S.S. Firebrand, Freedom Class, NCC 68723.
U.S.S. Gage, Apollo Class, NCC 11672.
U.S.S. Princeton, Niagara Class, NCC 59804.
U.S.S. Roosevelt, Excelsior Class, NCC 2573.
U.S.S. Saratoga, Miranda Class, NCC 1937.

That makes 13 star ships. Beyond that i read in the book about the one surviving starship, but even the writers of the book where not 100% sure.

U.S.S. Endeavour, Nebula Class, NCC 71805.
The Endeavour, Commanded by Captain Amasov, was mentioned by Janeway in "Scorpion, pt 1", as having had battled the borg and survived.
It wasent specified that it was at the battle of wolf 359 or not. The endeavour later was part of the battle against the borg in star trek: First Contact. However, that movie did take place long after voyager was stranded on the other side of the galaxy.

2 additional star ships where mentioned on a website i visited.

U.S.S. Yamaguchi, Ambassador Class, NCC 26510.
U.S.S. Liberator, Unknown Class/Type, NCC 67016.

That makes a posiblility of 16 starships out of the 40 (39 destroyed) that participated in the battle at wolf 359. Only 13 are considered cannon as having been named in one episode or another.

Does anyone else know of more ships, or any episodes that i may have missed that have more details?

Tielee Telses.

Enterprise D was apart of the task force but didnt make it to the battle in time, you should know why that is from watching Best of both worlds. :)

umm, yes the enterprise was part of the task force, but it wasent involved in the actual battle itself (thou it had several seperate battles witht he same cube).

The 40 ships im refering to is the fleet of 40 ships that admiral hansen mentioned to "captain" riker that they had mobilized at wolf 359.

since the enterprise wasent involved in the battle, i dont count it as part of the 40 shps involved in the battle.

On a side note....hansen also refered to a posibility that the klingons and maybe even the romulans would send ships, or at least that they where opening negotiations.

Thinking on that, even if the romulans WOULD have been sending ships, the cube had already gone through romulan space in its progress to get to earth. Any romulan ships that would have been sent would have been way behind the enterprise, and as thus wouldent have been able to get to the battle any faster then the enterprise.
As far as the klingons go...are they on the same side of the federation or on a different side?...anyone know this?

The Klingons are most definitely on the same side - they've been allies for about 70 years by then!

If the Cube has gone through Romulan space, wouldn't the Romulans have engaged it? In which case, wouldn't they have lost a few ships? (Actually, we had the sense to let it travel through unprovoked, coz we knew it was headed for Earth!)

By the way, I was gonna mention that you made a mistake in your first post on the registry numbers of the ships, but you corrected it in your second post. (You listed the Ahwahnee and Bellerophon as BOTH being NCC-62048 )

You might wanna install some Anti-Cloak sensors there then...

We Romulans have always had more of an affinity with the Borg than you Humans. We did try a deal with them for the Omega Particle in Armada 1 afterall...

In Armada 1, the Romulans discover the Omega particle.

Sela decides she wants to make a deal with the Borg, but we don't really find out the specifics of what this deal is.

The Borg then end up chasing the Romulans through half the Galaxy for it...

It's quite a good game really, it plays out like a multi-perspective, extra-long trek episode.

You start off as the Federation (Enterprise-E obviously) taking care of a few straggling Jem'Hadar after the Dominion war.

Suddenly, a temporal disturbance occurs near the Enterprise, and the 'USS Premonition' appears, followed by two attacking Borg Spheres.

You have to rescue the Premonition, whose Captain then warns you that the Borg are preparing to invade the Alpha Quad. In the future where the Premonition comes from, the Federation is all but assimilated.

As you progress through the game, you eventually get to play as the Klingons, Romulans, and Borg, and you get to build and control many ships and technologies.

Even the Cardassians, Ferengi, and some wierd bug things show up occaisionally throughout the course of the game, although (Unless you capture their ships) they are unplayable.

Apparently you can play as the Cardassians and 8472 in Armada 2, but i've never played them.

The in-game movies are really cool as well. Picard's hands are a little big, but you can tell it is him.

Even Worf and Locutus put in appearances - trust me, it is a really cool game, especially if you add your own ships into it. (Which is very difficult, if you aren't given any instructions/have no experience in such things)

There are a LOT of ships out there to add to the game though, so if you ever did get the game, you're gonna be spending a long time on it.

Armada II is ok. It's just too bad that my pc isn't too good to handle it smoothly. You have far more ships and all. It's only too bad that it's all about the biggest ships. The smaller ones are completely useless. I mean, you can build akiras and intrepids, but those are realy gone after 2 or 3 torpedos.
And another setback is that the storyline isn't that exciting. You have far more missions, but they are all focussed on killing borg and cardassians. That's about it, realy.

EDIT: Ow, and they took out the Romulans in the campaign part of the game.
Damn, if I think about it, the game actualy sucks! :p

I've got A2 it's a great game, and i've modded alot. But going back to wolf 359 battle if 40 ships where send and 39 where lost, could that not mean that some where assimulated and send through transwarp back to the borg space, because other wise how did officers who where assimulated there live on. As seen in "unity" and "unimatrix zero pt. 1" Also i think that some romulans where assimulated by the borg, but the romulans where not told about the borg, the closest they got was being told about their outposts being destory. That would also explain the romulan drone in "unity". But some thing i woundered is why there where no excelcoir classes in Wolf 359 since there where like thousands in the Dom war?

There were Excelsiors. Think of the Roosevelt and the Melbourne. And watch the first DS9 Episode "Emissary" again. There you can watch the battle of Wolf 359.
