Hi once again and congratulations to your great work on BOTF2.
I guess I am just one of many, who is looking forward to this sequel.
Well, I am myself participating in a project, that is, though small, also quite ambitious reagarding to bring some of the MoO and BOTF feeling into the CIV 3 franchise.
I am assisting Flamand with his Star Trek Mod for CIV3 and a lot of Ship models have already been done and incorporated into the Mod.
At the moment though, I am working on a complete list with all available ship classes for all those ST races, that we want to have in the game. For this I have been searching many a Star Trek site to get a grip on existing and fictious shipclasses for the respective races, though in some occations, I simply failed to find something.
What I mainly miss in the list are Space Stations, other the Federation ones, and some additional Ship classes for the Dominion aswell as the Cardassians. In this casse I wanted to ask if you(the creators of BOTF2) could release a list of the ships and spacestations, that you are using for BOTF2. You would of course get credit in our Mod and we would even promote BOTF2 in our Forum-thread aswell as in the Mod credits. Furthermore I will dare to ask you, if you could make some of the meshes that you used for the ships available to us, since all the ST ship models have to be modeled with quite some effort to fit into CIV3.
I do not suppose that you like any of this ideas and please don't be offended since I do this in respect of your great work and just have to try to get some more resources regarding ST fictious material.
So I already would be happy to see a shiplist, to get an idea about what to incorporate next into our mod.
PS.: I know there are available meshes for ships aswell as for stations from BOTF 1, but in some way I do not dare to use them for the mod, since this could end up with copyright trouble with Atari or whoever owns the gamerights now.

Downsizeit, there is no need to be so concerned. Dafedz has recently done an overhaul of his own stats, and they are far more 'trekky'.
As an example, the Defiant now has 2 beam weapons (No mention of the Pulses yet, but these beam weapons do a huge amount of damage, aprox. double that of other Phasers, so I imagine these are supposed to be the canons, but that then means there are too few of them... Dafedz' list doesn't have enough room to show Pulse weapons as a separate box.)
The Defiant also has two Quantum launchers, rather than 10.
As a guide, a Defiant cause about three quarters the damage of a Sovereign (702 points of damage compared to the 1182 points of a Sovereign, or even 795 points of damage by a Galaxy)
However, not everyone will like the changes, because the Akira has only 4 Torpedo Tubes. This might not relate to the rate of fire though, since the tubes may fire multiple times in the game.
Anyway, this is the link to Dafedz new list:
I don't know if this is a finalised list though, Dafedz may have made it up, or Gavin may be using it. I do not know for definite.
...
Evil_Fluff, these are the stats for BOTF2. As Ftranschel said, Pulse weapons will be in, Gavin said so a long time ago. If a 'standard' weapon (Ie. no special gas, mine, bomb, etc. that was only used once) is in trek (And is utilised by the vessels in the game) they will be in.
Such things were not in BOTF though, and likely never will be.

I was talking about Dafedz's list, not the canon Defiant, Xir_.
Since his list can only cope with one type of beam and one type of torpedo per ship, we'll just have to hope these are simply oversights, and that Gavin has programmed the ships to have multiple weapons.
