As gav requested heres a nebula and a star, graphics.
Heres a fed background *updated*
or
Edit new multicoloured nebula which im kinda prowd of dunno if it will be used tho
Also id like to say that gav had me test the menus in a interactive demo and its fast as lighting
My specs are:
Amd xp 1900+
768meg ddr
geforce 4 ti4200 64ddr
For those thats interested...
And for the doubters out there i can assure you this game will be made.
Edit:
I would consider the above nebulas wip as i been working on improving them alot which i have done in most part.

Ok i just spent twenty minutes cleaning up this thread, i know i have deleted a lot which was neither off topic nor spam but with 7 pages of crap i really could not be bothered to read them all. sorry to those who posted a legitimate question.
Should this thread go off topic or get spammed again i will lock it out.

I was admiring the screen shots again but i couldnt help but notice that the is no system viewer at the bottom, has this not been added yet ? as a player i think its important to be able to click on a system youve been to and remind yourself of whats there.. One other thing i find some of the graphics a little big... or is that just the one type of star? maybe something half of that size would be more realistic, at 25 i can still see resonably well. Or am i totally off base and is there more than one map view life bof1?
Graphics are really nice though

they look big because the screen res is higher than the screencaps shown here, so whe ngavin took them he never scaled thepics right. as for a system viewer do you mean whe nyou click on a system it shows the planets and such?

This is a repost from another thread on the screens i started. Jig you said its ok to post here so i will.
Jig can you give us a tour of your first screen. Im failry sure i can make out 4 identical suns and a federation space station but im not sure what the rest of the stuff is. A key would be handy. Also do the images move of are they stationary, i see to remeber talking about planets orbiting suns on one of the other threads but i don't see any there. Cheers.
The answer was; Suns do moove, you dont se ethe planets untill youve scanned the system.
So my next question is will we actually see the planets orbiting the sun or will we have to click on the sun and get the planet list underneath ?

@ you both, same as in botf, untill you click on the system you won`t see the planets. they won`t be spinning around the sun though just spinning like in botf. moons will however orbit planets.

Cool, can we have a backdrop for the unexplored areas like in botf 1. You know a set image. Also a faded backdrop for the explored area such as in botf 1 would add more atmosphere also. In botf1 the backdrops were clouor tinted to match the ui, it was very immersive.

Wow, that's nice to know. All I knew about the Moons was the pic that Dafedz made as an example of how it could be done.
So what about Asteroid fields, Jig? Are they gonna be physically shown like the Moons are, or will they just be 'suggested' by the ability to build the Asteroid Harvesting structure?
The map will certainly look cool with your Starmaps as well, Skeeter!

i'm not sure if it's ok to post here or not. please dispose of this post properly if not.
anyway, i wanted to know if you guys still need some backgrounds, nebulas, and that sort of stuff. i'm offering to do it because that's a task i can handle. (i'm learning to model in 3d, but i'm far away from being able to model ships =( ) so, well, let me know if you need my humble services ^^
