I dont if much of you are into D&D, but I play a lot of mmogs and die20 games. I got an email from a friend today and he sent me a link. I thought I would share it with you guys.

I had thought that just maybe one game would be safe from going to the masses would be D&D but I guess I was wrong.

I'm torn on this one. To me D&D is a game of my childhood; a thing of imagination where the realities of life melted to the fantacies of a child. The rules and limits were what kept it from the realm of mental masterbation. They had to be complex otherwise it became unfair. The learning curve was therefor steep but the payoff grand.
The switch from AD&D to D&D3 ruined it for me. It became a computer game that happened to be on paper. d20 is hardly different.
This book is just a continuation of this dumbing down of a game I loved. It helps to keep the name of that game alive, so it's a good thing. It helps to destroy why I loved it in the first place so it's a bad thing.
I think I'm too cynical now to genuinely care anymore. :'(

I would have to say ZDarby exactly summed up how I feel about this. Especially with his last line.
Valcoren, if you dont mind me asking, where abouts in FL are you?

@ Rigel: I'm In Ft. Myers
@Trekboy: The game of D&D is one of that for great thinkers and nothing wrong for video games and mmog's but you cant compair the world of D&D and the type of people I have played with vs. that of the masses. I hated D&D3/3.5 when the game was taken over by wizaerds of the coast. when the game was owned by TSR D&D/AD&D it was amazing with the stories and the game was at an all time high. but it still took people that had wanted to take the time to learn something. but this book kills that to where anyone can pick it up and play it.
