I dont know my dad got me into trek at an early age and altho i may not be as big a trek fan as the guys on here i do like my ds9 i have the 2 series on dvd as well which i watch over and over I think it has to be introduced at a young age because as girls get older they wont even give it a chance.

Yeah, that's what I find. Most "popular" type people act like they feel dirty when they're in the same room as Trek.
It's almost like if they hear the word "photon torpedo" they'll suddenly come out in acne. I may find a really good episode of DS9 and then agree to take her to see 'pride and predudice' if she watches it. May be worth it in the long run.
Anyone suggest an episode? Guess it could be a TNG ep also. I reckon a standalone ep with no need for background knowlege.

1. DS9
Reason:
Sisko vs dukat through most of it was entertaining. Had quark in it . Had a nice intersteller war which we brings about the defiant The sexy dax and kira And features the cardassians and the actual ds9 station.
2. Tos
Reason:
Kirk and the crew and they really dont know where there going most of the way through and do actually discover stuff also has the cool old style klingons and romulans in And of the best bit is of course the enterprise constitution class
3. Voy
Reason:
Lone ship no support limit supplies, whats not cool about that as the main story through the show Also has a new style of ship which is like uber compared to the delta quadrent stuff as it kicks the hell of most things there. It has belaana Also 7of9 in that silver sexy body suit Also has some cool races i think in like hirogen and species 8472 which was a cool episode where they royalty kicked the borgs ass . Of course we also have the borg in it but they dont seem to be a threat liek they were in first contact or TNG. I mean voyager always gets away from them.
4. TNG
Had the enterprise galaxy class. Had hippy happy crew all the time, it had westly crusher the annoying little runt. Now the good stuff... Klingons and romulans does try to continue the trek ideology where they seek out new life and all that. Introduced the borg (if u dont count ent borg episode). Introduce Lcars interface that we see on this fine forum.
5. Ent
Hmm only good think is that it was nice to see the duo from Quantum leap in the show, sam and al, sam was the captain and al was a alian dicator or somit in s1. It also had tpol, although i hate her hair in it, she looks mint in real life as a sexy blonde. Also had the nice story about the nekrit expance or whatever its called. Thought that was good. Even tho its really the begining of the federation and starfleet, i really wished they had a non trek looking ship and non trek looking crew, and we see them develope in time to new uniforms and new ship that is more trek.
Well thats my list and why.

LOL, I was wondering about that. But I'll agree, DS9 was my favorite Trek series. You've gotta love those Cardiassians, not to mention Weyoun.
Weyoun: If you ask me, the key to holding the Federation is Earth. If there's going to be an organized resistance against us... its birthplace will be there.
Dukat: You could be right.
Weyoun: Then our first step will be to eradicate its population.
Dukat: You can't do that.
Weyoun: Why not?
Dukat: Because! A true victory is to make your enemy see that they were wrong to oppose you in the first place. To force them to acknowledge your greatness.
Weyoun: And then you kill them?
Dukat: Only if necessary.
Oh, and the fact that Voyager has more votes than TNG is just wrong.

Gotta be DS9 for me too. It had it all, the hot chick to drool over, the shady character keeping you guessing, the down-to-earth commnding officer, gripping story lines, and even a character to pray to get killed off (Bashir -.-). I also like the premise of the series, utlising a wide range of recurring characters (Nog, Rom, Leeta, Kai Win, Dukat, Weyoun, and Garak to name a few) and storylines that show the long-term effects of what happens, not just flying away at the end of the episode and forgetting about the people they leave behind.
Voyager comes in close 2nd for me. I liked a lot of the characters (Janeway, Kes, The Doctor, B'Elenna) although there were some I found intensely annoying (*cough Chakotay cough*). Like with DS9 I liked the idea behind it, a sole ship lost and alone with limited resoursed and no backup, and the trail of failed attempts to get home. Some of the episodes were obvious ratings grabbers (Borg -.-) but the episodes that were good definately balanced it out.
The Next Generation wasn't my favourite, but I don't really have anything against it. A lot of the episodes were good, the main characters were likable enough, but I did find there were a lot more "filler" episodes with little happening. It paved the way for 'modern' Star Trek and stirred up interest into the genre again, and it was an enjoyable series at the same time.
I've never watched much of The Original Series. The few episodes I've seen didn't grab my attention majorly, I only watched those because they were Star Trek. After seing the ships and technology of TNG, the whole feel of TOS seemed too archaic for me, and I found the few episodes I've seen a little melodramatic (with an over-sexed captain ).
Enterprise was just painful. The few storylines that wern't obvious rip off's from other series ('Doctor's orders' being the most blatant example) were ok, but nothing special. I found the ending anti-climactic, and frankly wouldn't have know it was the last episode if I hadn't been told.

I have to agree with you mate TNG is way better and its very bad that VOY is above it if you ask me.

I've always thought that DS9 is best, but I would put TNG equal with it.

Perfect for your avatar, Captain I'm amazed that DS9 has a lot more votes than any of the others. I'd have imagined TNG to be right up there

DS 9 was my favorite, although Enterprise's writing got a lot better in its last season. Its too bad it didn't get more of a chance. I was hoping to see the Earth Romulan War or at least a lead up to it.

If you banned all of us Jig, you'd loose a hell of a lot of support. And i wonder what Hailing Frequencies would make of it

Enterprise was a great series, but it wasn't very "trek" if you know what I mean. The show could have been alot better if they followed the trek timeline. Hell, even if they just did it to satisfy the fan base and throw in some of the fan created ships as one timers like test ships or something... that would have brought the ratings up enough to keep it on.

Well there you have to problem why Enterprise only lasted 4 years. It's an amazing show (phew... jig doesn't have to ban me now ), and you people deserted it. The crew was great, and if we got the 6/7 seaons we prob would have seen the end of the romulan war and the beginning of the federation. Just because fans didn;t liked it that there timeline wasn't 100$ correct. For all we know someone from the future changed it a bit.. again...
