Chris - who the hell?
Zach - you could maybe set up a thread on this site on Hailing Frequencies? That song at the end rules!

May have been a slip of the tongue but Gturfey mentioned in the interview that the Ferengi will be a major race in the game along with cardies, dominion, feds, romulans and klingon
is it true?

Good interview. ALways glad to hear a litle more about the game. Cant wait to see the AI in action if its really as good as it sounds.
I was a little confused by the ferengi being named as a major empire as well, is this true, or just a mistake?

Nice interview. 2d battles at first and later on 3d with possible C&C style land battles. Sounds good. The AI sounds scary!

I don't think I like the C&C land battles. It'll take far too much time I guess. Perhaps just play a small movie to show who is winning. MoO2 had quite an amusing system for it.
On the other hand, the way they did it in BotF served the purpose as well. No need to go into further detail.

I agree. I wouldn't mind the old botf method at all as long as we get 3d space battles at some point.

erm no, they start off with a home system in the gamma quadrent, if you get to there they will be massive, as they will be expanding as they are an expandable minor. but they will also appear as a random.

Althought bringing out the game in bits like patches etc is a gr8 idea for people with slow connections. Surely if a part of the game is complete those of us with higher speed connections should be given a chance to download them? Simply making the different parts avalibale as they are completed would mean those who can download will?

Carott: i think you are right. im only on 56k but that doesnt stop me from doing 4.5gig up and down a month. I am patient. Having a full version to download really announces that the game is complete.

I'm assuming that's a typo, since I know you know which quadrant the Borg originated in.

Thats what the colony ships will be for. While the Cube attacks them my fleet of NX-01's will have a field day, ramming the cube.

I dare say if you're unlucky enough to encounter the Borg during the NX era you'll be looking at an uphill struggle.
