Thats what I was thinking but wont the Borg be weak aswell at the start of the game? That could be your golden opportunity to destroy them before they become too powerful.

But that would mean the Borg need some sort of tech curve as well - unless you mean 'weak' based on the number of systems they have assimilated/number of ship they have.
Even then, I imagine that the Borg will be a challenge, no matter what era you are in...it would just be wrong otherwise. 8O

I doubt the Borg will have cubes that early, maybe just probes. Later they'll probably start sending spheres, then in the later stages- cubes. I'm sure Gav or Jig said that once.

Great interview. I'm so sorry about your loss Gavin. Take all the time you need. I look forward to the game with great anticipation.

Why can't more people have this attitude?

I'm listening to the interview right now. The interviewer is not the greats. Lots of "ok" and "right". There is a lot of good info in there. Someone should post a transcript of the interview.

Yeah, I was pretty impressed hearing about all the features in the interview. Especially just the sheer scope of the game. The ambitious scale of this project really comes across in the interview, more so than reading the posts in the various forums. I can't imagine how many hours Gavin and the other devs must have put into this project. My hat off to all of them.

Maybe you'll have the ability to still build old ships in the 24CE

Dont worry Zack, I thought you were good. I would struggle to speak for that long periods of time without doing something not normal while on tape.
Although never tried it!
Well Done for all the effort

Now i've listened to all the Hailing Frequency Pod Casts i can safely say that they are on a whole brilliant. They've helped me choose which mods to use for my Trek games, and their choices have been very good. They have a good selection of Chat, info, interviews.
I deeply regret what i said at first, and i hope by showing my appreciation to this and proves i am a real fan.
@norexan95: Believe me it isn't easy. Especially if a few thousand people may be listening. Also there has to be a fair bit of speal (sp) if your going to talk for 45mins each time. Imagine the amount of work these guys have to put in.
Zach, if you ever want some stuff for Bridge Commander, Starfleet Command 3 or Elite Force 1 or 2 and others; feel free to email me mate

What are your views on this
How much is Gavin holding on from telling us about features, so we get the surprise in the game?
I hope a lot, the more surprises the better, and I guess it would take him ages to tell of all the features anyway, when he could be making more

Well, yes I could. There's lots of good questions but it's not exactly the greatest interview. No big deal.

ok guys - i hereby resign from doing "hailing frequencies" and pass the chair over to northtexan95 - hey north, the next show is due out this satruday - you now have around 1400 people all waiting for you to do the next show - no pressure huh! - GOOD LUCK!!!
p.s. oh yeh forgot to mention the rules, u have to do it after a long hard stressful day at work, and you have to record, mix, and edit the whole show in under 2hrs.
oh and here comes the REAL cracker - when no show comes out this saturday, ill post a little article on the front page of the STGU telling everyone exactly why they have no show, oh and dont worry, ill be sure to post your e-mail address etc so they can direct their anger directly at you.

You're the one who did the interview? I didn't know you visited this board.
You are taking my comments WAY too seriously. I didn't insult you. I didn't say it was a bad interview (in fact I do mention there were a lot of good info and good questions). I merely humorously noted that you said "ok" and "right" very often. I guess you didn't notice my smiley face in the initial post.
You're the only one throwing out any insults. If you get so worked up over such a minor comment about such a minor aspect of your work, then I'd hate to see your reaction to someone who has a real critizism. (I wonder, did the Federation ever get dragged into a war over such a little thing?)
Honestly, your reaction is so adament about such a minor thing I really don't know if your just joking or if you really feel insulted. If you want to quit the interviews and post my email as to the reason ... well, I can't stop you. If you do that, though, I only ask that you post a link to this thread and let everyone decide for themselves how grievous my comments were.
Meanwhile, I'll be listening to your interview again because, like I said before, there is a lot of good questions and answers in there.
