I have never tried out BOTF Mods before, but was going to before I found BOTF2 and thus lost interest in BOTF

But as we don't know the release for the Demo, I am going to try the mods

What is the most complete and best mod for the BOTF, or collection of mods

Depends on what you want from the game really.

Your best chance is to go to the armadafleetcommand.com's mods section and have a look if there are any downloads you fancy:

If you want to edit the game, I would definitely recommend the BOTFed 1.4 editor, (To edit the ship stats) and the BOTF BOTF Building/Structures Editor.

These both work very well, and also come with good explanations of how to use them.

To download anything from the site though, you'll need to log in. Try using the same username/password that you use on this site.

I like the ultimate Version 2 mod. Its a subtle mod still feels like BOTF. They added many new minor races and typically the minor races are stronger and better able to defend themselves.

They also added Lots of new ships including earlier Federation models so you can build the Enterprise A and old class detroyers, Akira class etc.

Outposts and Starbases have been made a bit stronger which I think is a good thing. The mod works well in multiplayer as well.

Im interested to know of any other good mods that people have played if they could say that would be great.

b5 mod total conversion to the babylon 5 universe, all ships replaced.
borg incursion ferengi replaced with borg, all new models.
a lot of the other mods are ok but i have not played them a lot, captain chao`s mod is really good as well but i`m damned if i remember the name.

I've fpund Ultimate Mod 1+2 fine for me (Dafedz). Despite a couple of ships missed out its well worth a try if you want something a lot different than the original
