I was wondering, although there are those of us with low system spec, will this game cater for people with medium to high spec systems, esp in the combat aspet of this game?
When i say this i mean various options in-game to alter and enhance the graphics?
Also, the render we saw of that klingon ship is awesome, but whats the difference between the render and a screenshot? i;ve yet to see any screens of what a finished ship with tectures would look like at its best in the game, esp with a planet or something behind it!
.... Yet another question, what wil the phasers, torpedos and shield effects look like? will they have authentic sounds?? And.... lol the big question i think alot of people wanna know... will the defiant have pulse phaser effects???

With PC spec: The game will run on anything Win 98+, 233 Porcessor (Pentium 2 or Athlon - GO AMD), 64mb RAM, 2mb Graphics (NO 6800GT Minimums here!)
In reagrds to all the effects, i'll leave that up to someone else who can give a better explanation

the difference between a render and a screenshot is this.
render done in max or similer can be anything up to a million polys or over if you system is good enough.
a screenshot taken in game ca nbe nowere near as high cos most systems would not be able to handle the polys and any movement as well. so high poly for renders, low as possible for actual games.
high poly ships will be released for those wit hmachines capable of running it, but even the best machine will die with to many ships on the screen, so i would say no more than 2000 or maybe 2500 or you`ll be playing botf1 style battles.
phasers nad such will be as realistic as possible.

good answer Jig, but you specifically answer if the defiants will have pulse phasers
