ya if you have 3ds max 5 or higher. but in a game not a hope, unless you want one on one ship batles.

Funnily enough when i used to be a begininer and mod homeworld i made a high poly B5 sharlin cruiser (untextured) and it was 65,000 polys and was still smooth ingame, although only tested it with the one and with whatever was in map like normal units it still was smooth. Although wouldnt liked to have tested with a fleet of them lol, my cpu and gfx core would have burned up or somit hehe.

It appears that once you become an expert, the less polys you can have in a ship the better (supposing it looks good)
