I like how people are voting but not posting here...

Stargate Atlantis is the show that's keeping me going at the moment, although I am still watching SG-1 as they show it.

Atlantis just goes from strength to strength, it is getting really addictive, and I love it! :D

Theres been a few months since the current series of SG-1 and the last one, (I'm UK, so they haven't finished showing the last series of SG-1 yet) so i'm not 'with it' as much as Atlantis at the moment, it can be hard to remember stuff after a few months. :(

Watching the entire series DS9 at the moment as I haven't seen much of them before. Since everyone keeps saying it is the best ST series of all, I liked to see it for myself.

OMG!! Which rock have you lived under? lol

At the moment the new BSG has had me hooked, I’m a massive 'Homeworld' fan so the battle scenes are a lot to my liking. I love the fact that the story is so rich and the acting is mostly top draw stuff. i also like the 3-4 subplots running concurrently. It gives the viewer lots to think about. A lot of what made DS9 so good has found its way into BSG.

I have a channel here in the US that shows a 5 hour block of DS9&TNG every monday - friday. they show 2 hours of DS9 and 3 hours of TNG; it is great. DS9 is in season 7 and TNG is in season 3.

I live in the US as well and I hate that. For me it starts at 12 and goes on till 5, so guess what I do in the afternoon...Well, that's not entirely fair, I go to college on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but on Tuesdays and Thursdays I used to watch them all. Now I only bother with DS9, as I'm not a big TNG fan and I don't have the time to watch ST all day. Growing up and even until recently I have seen only TOS, and I've always been interested to see the DS9 I hear so much about. Probably the opposite from everyone else, but I still think TOS is the best. The reasons DS9 isn't as high are because of two things: Major Kira and the Bajoran religion. For a few reasons, Kira is beyond annoying to me, I just can't stand her. I don't have a real problem with the religion, but when Sisko, one of my favorite fictional characters spends the whole episode having visions, it is.

EDIT: Oh yeah and as for BSG, when I first saw the commercials for it, I thought it was not the kind of show I would be interested to see. One Friday it was on and I decided to watch it. Only then did I realize that the commercials where decieving. Of course I have only seen three epsodes in the now season 2, and at first I thought they were OK now I feel I have to watch and Today is Friday!!! I am also a big Homeworld fan, so now I'm curious to see season 1.

i agree with Puglsey BSG is phenominal, of course if you look at the best shows on TV, you see the trek connection, like medium and the dead Zone and of course BSG, my personal favorite, since the demise of Enterpise that is.

@ smith I have to agree it does take up a lot of time to watch them all I'm lucky enough to have a job to where I work friday - monday 10 hour days I have a DVR system to watch the shows I missed but I have been saving all the DS9 shows I have about 30 hours so far. Kira is one of my less favorite characters as well but over all the story line behind DS9 is very well layed out. the one thing I would have liked to see in the last few episodes of DS9 would of been to bring the TNG crew in some of the battles along with VOY crew. so we could build a better familiarly with the VOY crew. like when they started DS9/TNG was still running and the two meshed togather in the way they were written.

This is just a quick question for those who know, but when is the new BSG even on? I was watching it for the last three fridays in a row and now after I am hooked and have been waiting for the next one for a week it's not even there at 7, it's some type of Halloween marathon. Man, I hate Halloween..if it isn't bad enough that kids keep ringing your doorbell all night long, now it takes BSG away from me... What was the last episode supposed to be? Were those re-runs that were being played? Ok, maybe this isn't a quick question...

think i know the answer to that one.
When they first aired season 2 there was one week they skipped. (not the episode, just the week).
Right now BSG is in season 2 in reruns, and in eather december or january season 3 is supposed to start.
To check the air dates check on http://www.scifi.com
They have a nice scedule where you can check i think up to the end of the next month and see when and what episode is playing for not only BSG but also any other shows and movies they are airing.

That's cool, thanks.
So this means there is no BSG for a while, right?
At least I didn't see it, even in search...and what is it with the sci-fi channel and horror? Maybe technically "RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD: RAVE TO THE GRAVE" could be maybe partially considered something that is a little based on some idea that in the 1800s they might have considered sci-fi, but why not play Star Trek, or something that has some science in it?

lol SciFi's origonal movies (like that dumb Rave to the Grave) are all horrible. They make some of the more horrible, campy movies I've ever seen or heard. (The one scifi original movie Frankenfish springs to mind). They really need to stick to their series (BSG, the Stargates, and the Farscape miniseries they had about a year ago). Its about the only thing they do right.

Its some dumb "13 days of Halloween" crap they are playing.
I must agree, very few "original Sci Fi" movies are any good anymore.
Only ones i can think of that where good in the past few years is Battlestar Galactica, Dungeons and Dragons: The Wrath of the Dragon God (ok, it was kinda crapy, but i used to play D&D, and besides the human wizard chick was good looking), and The Legend of Earthsea.

Sci Fi has been coming out with really bad movies lately. I used to watch it all the time, and several years back i felt the movies where halfway good, now i feel they are just trying to rush out movies to make a quota or some such thing.

Only stuff i look at anymore is SG1, Stargate: Atlantis, and of course BSG.
Beyond that, i barely am even interested in any of the new movies on sci fi.

Oh, btw, did anyone see the Dungeons & Dragons: Wrath of the Dragon God movie?
If you did, did you laugh at the way the dumb cleric died?
I was thinking to myself, gee and the fighter guy said he was the best cleric in the land?....

That movie they had, or maybe it was a mini series, Legend of Earth Sea or something along those lines.. wasn't too horrible.. I haven't bothered to watch any of the others though. TV goes on for two things: BSG (and not for that again until Jan!), and Rome on HBO. (Asides from maybe House, possibly the only non-scifi show I watch)

Ron Moore worked on TNG, and maybe DS9, I can't recall if he did or not.. you're all right though, he is doing a really good job.

I kind of wish they'd done a better job with SG1 though.. you can only make it clear that these new guys can pwn you utterly, swiftly, and painfully so many times before it gets boring  I thought Ben Bowder and Claudia Black would save the day, and he's helped, but that can only go so far too.

As far as Farscape, I refused to watch SciFi channel again except to catch the PK Wars miniseries, and only recently broke it off so I could watch their new lineup.. they've redeemed themselves though!

Deadwood, never tried it, but I'll give it a try in Jan.

Yeah, rest of this year for me is just plugging along at college, killing time till I can see my BSG again..

I guess there's a trek movie in production too, but wouldn't hold my breath for 06, maybe 07

The New BSG is very interesting... u gotta love these shows that just take you just a bit farther...that fire up the imagination...it's got all the strong elements: a religious theme, duty, romance, and the list goes on and on... just keeps you wanting more. It's a continuing story, a lot more so than say, DS9...even though it's got a lot of the same elements it's got a different feel - a lot more mystery fueling it...

If you feel a bit less like mystery and more like adventure and the radiant feeling of freedom then I think Firefly's your thing... Myself I like to alternate... too bad I'm done with Firefly and only one season left of BSG to watch(after Adama got 2 bullets in his torso, btw, did he live?).. there's always DS9 and the others I still can't find the time to finish watching.. :)

stargate definatly and the new BSG thats about it. I watch andromeda too but i think that not being produced any more..... Season 9 of stargate soon!!!! dont like the fact that they got rid of richard dean anderson though, that will kill the chemistry. The new guy is not my favorite, i was not a farscape fan at all!!! too odd for me and silly. Hope it doesnt ruin stargate

Hope I'm not spoiling it for anyone else who hasnt seen it, but yes he does survive.

In my opinion, yes. Good stories, great actors. The only problem I had with it at first was that it has quite a large ensamble cast, so it may take 2-3 episodes to figure out who everybody is. Other than that, I definately recomend it.
