So Australia has just qualified for the World Cup Finals next year in Germany. Hell yes. Even if we go crap it doesnt matter, the win against Uraguay tonight felt awesome. It was the most exciting piece of TV I have watched since the Ashes Test which we lost by 4 runs, and more exciting than anything for ages before that.
Anyways I know its not Trek related, but since its the first time we have been to the World Cup for 30 odd years, I think its worth a thread.

Cricket? wtf? lmfao! etc. needs improving by 1) make all the players dress as disney characters 2) replace the cricket ball with a tribble 3) randomly mine the field 4) make female streakers compulsary and sometimes in groups 4) stop refering to the players as "athletes", I played cricket, they are about as atletic as your average dart player
wtg Austrailia. its about time! i cant wait to you guys over here

well you obviously didnt play a decent level of cricket then. how many games go for at least 6 hours a day in the summer sun? that takes athleticism.

Congrats..! Australie will be one of the underdogs, perhaps they will do a stunt like Greece or Denmark? Anyway we all know that holland will win, right? (is about time)...

Summer sun? come on! i live in England!, We have Tiffin and rain old chap, lol epitome of cricket STANDING around for 6 hours, at least in football the guys run around, now i would not like to run around for an hour in your Ausie summer sun, as for Austrailia being the underdog? how many times have underdogs overcome all odds? obviously I want England to win but considering I was nearly born in Broken hill I'll be there cheering on the Ausies too.

Cricket is tiring, try bowling 10 overs straight!
Or batting for 3 hours.
In the heat.
And the Argentina game was a classic (something I still havent got my head around, a proper friendly?? (where is the world going))
It was so close, don't think we were better, but I also dont think we were lucky. It was just a good Football game decided on one good finish.

Yeah I want Holland to win, they are my fav team. But I hope Australia does well.
Anyways cricket is very demanding, it all depends how much YOU put into the game, if you are serious, then at the end of the day, you should be stuffed.

Cricket is more of an endurance fitness than a sprint fitness. So I find that hockey is really short-fast-loud and cricket is drawn out and slow.

I play a high level of field hockey. My coach is a slave driver and because I'm a striker, its 2 35min halfs of constant sprinting. And field hockey is probably more hard than ice hockey, because ice hockey is all about stupid fights.
