Well all battlestar galactica and sg1 are back on the *******... and bsg has just got better and better. The new episode is by far the best episode of sci i have seen in a long time. possibly for ever. im just spreading the good word... i dont care if star trek ever comes back. it was never as good as the new bsg. it just seemed like clean boring technobable looking back.... (this should start a bit of an arguement.... )

the new bsg ep was awesome. absolutely awesome.

hmmm dont see it till tuseday night but i carnt wait ohhhhhhh going to rock so much so i will coment more after tuseday

I have to agree, I love the new BSG series. The cast is truly exceptional. The past few episodes have really left you hanging at the end--I can't remember the last time I was so anxious to see the next episode of a TV series. Damn you and your frustratingly well-executed cliffhangers, Ronald D. Moore!

Nope, no Sattellite, Digital, or Cable.

I'll have Digital when they switch the analogue signal off in 2010 though...

My parents think me and my sister watch too much TV (As if) and it's pointless in getting another TV service when they have to pay the TV licence anyway. (Which it sorta is when you think about it, although the Blair Broadcasting Corporation needs all the money it can get coz...umm... <insert reason here> )

I'm happy enough with normal TV though - at least Channel 5 are doing repeats of Voyager on Saturdays.

And Stargate and Enterprise is on Sundays on Channel 4...

...And Season 2 of Stargate Atlantis will be back on Channel 5 later on in the year...not that I don't know what's gonna happen in the opening episode...

Hmm...i'm noticing a pattern there when it comes to good TV...

BTW i hate BSG because people always go on about it saying it rocks it is better than anything it rocks i dont know how to live without it and people start fighting because they say it is better so i stick we startrek and i like starwars to so i know there weak spots ha ha ha so i can be fine i the Startrek Vs Starwars world lol i love when starwars fans post on startrek sitews they just get killed they say " starwars will win because they can blow up planets" LOL 8472 can blow planets up to lol "Ohhh starwars rocks because there ships are bigger than startrek ones!" lol that sucks because it would be easier to destory the enemy ship you have better weapons and shields and they dont have shields only a tough hull what does not last long agaisnt torps firing at it's head and if it has shields they could be taken out fast and the stardestorys would be to big to chase the startrek ships and the startrek ships could evade the enemy fire while they attack and then we come to beaming lol with starwars shields really bad people could beam a bomb or a torp right into there bridge and goodbye to them lol and they cant board the ship or beam so they could not get startrek weapons without people giving them it and then we come to cloaked ships now the starwars people know of such things as cloak but they hardly know how to use it and cant really scan for the cloaked ships so about 600 ships could be near the ship and decloak and fire everything they had at the ship and destory it really fast before stupid tie fighters got out ha ha ha ha!

I can only say what I know when it comes to Battlestar Galactica - I've seen pretty much every episode of the original coz they repeated it on BBC2 a couple of years ago - doesn't mean I remember every episode or little detail, but I remember the odd thing and general stuff - just like with Trek.

The Trek vs Wars cycle is never ending. I've read comparison chart on numerous sites that put Star Wars technologies at many orders of magnitude greater than those of Trek - apparently a bog-standard TIE fighter could take out a Sovereign in a few hits...

And to be honest, I've never actually seen any sites that use stats to put Trek on top. All the sites that put Trek on top that I have seen use other measures, such as plausibility, likelihood, and whatever to put Trek on top.

I personally couldn't care less about which is better - they both have good points and bad. There's nothing wrong with a bit of fighting though, is there?

Anyways, this is a Battlestar thread.

As I said, I've seen all of the original BSG, so if I saw the new one it would be a bit wierd. In fact, I've already seen a model of the new Galactica, and I can see the differences already!

Still, it's sci-fi, and that's what we all love. Sci-fi is like pizza - it doesn't matter how bad it is, it' sstill good.

Oh, and for argument's sake, here's one of those shameless sites that try to compare Trek and Wars.

I'm actually a little envious of all you folks that haven't gotten to see it yet -- you have so much goodness to look forward too.

What can I say about BSG'04? Its dark. Its hard. Its thrilling. It grabs you by the throat and doens't let go 'til you're panting like a greyhound that just ran a marathon. Despite being a "reimagining" of a beloved cheesy old TV series, BSG'04 represents a truly unique and terrifying vision of humanity at the very brink of extinction. What's more, it emphasizes that even when the whole of creation seems set against us, we are still often our own worst enemies.

All i can say is WATCH IT. Anyway you can. Buy, borrow, or steal the DVDs. You won't regret it.

I loved the original - although when it came to the Cylons...

As people have said, one of the things about being so restricted when it comes to TV is the fact that you do get left behind on what others have seen - but I think that in a way it is a good thing - as you said, panic, that means the entire thing is still to come, from my point of view.

to be honest, i don't like bsg that much..
