Well seeing that i love BSG, i got to do some replies.

On the 12 colonies subject...it dosent have to be 12 planets.
They never specified that any colony (except Caprica) is actully on a planet, so some or even most of the colonies could concevibly be on moons that support life. A colony could even be on a life sustaning asteroid (granted it would have to be big) or other mass in the solar system.

On Baltar, I personaly think he is a cylon and dosent know it yet (similar to how sharon was), and think thats why he sees number 6 all the time. If im not mistaken in the original BSG he was a cylon, or at least a cylon agent.
Convincing me even more that this is true is that now number 6 see's baltar. Could be a glitch in the programing of the cylons or such. Be interesting to see how this plays out.

Going back on the 12 colonies for a sec, if there is 12 colonies (13 counting earth), then where did the 12 (13) colonies originate from? Could earth actully be where the 12 colonies originated from and now its fallen into legend that its a 13th colony instead of where they all came from?

Number 6 mentioned there is 12 models of cylons. I wonder if we will ever see all 12? As far as i know there is number 6, Lucy lawless (Xena) plays number 3 i think, sharon i think is number 8. There is also 3 male cylons seen so far. There is the male cylon seen in the movie, later stranded at the supply depot. Several others of the same model, and a different model (males) rescue him from the depot. Then in the episode where number 6 and sharon resurect on caprica, there is a black male cylon seen.
Combining the 3 females, 3 males, and the guard type cylon that makes 7.
Of course, thinking on it, number 6 COULD have ment there was 12 models that look human. In that case there would be only 6 known so far.

One last thing i keep thinking of.
If BSG and the human fleet do ever find earth, have any of them considered what it would do if the cylons find them/follow them, and discover earth?

In the original BSG, the 13 tribes of man originated on Kobol and as they advanced, they went on their various spacefaring ways.

For some reason that I can't remember, the thirteenth tribe went off in a completely different direction, and all contact was lost, other than in the ancient stories which Adama used to inspire the fleet to continue on in the search for Earth.

It's a bit like the Romulan exodus from Vulcan. It's shrouded in mystery, and much has been forgotten.

Anyways, something went badly wrong during the journey, and the thirteenth tribe ended up loosing all the knowledge and technology that allowed them (us) to travel the stars - which is why they are so much more advanced than we are, even though we had the same origins and capability. I think it had something to do with the colony making a crash landing onto Earth, although what the cause was...? I have no idea.

There is an obvious flaw in this, because if it went so wrong, how did any knowledge of Earth get back to the twelve tribes? Like i've said before though, I haven't seen old BSG in a long time, so i've forgotten a lot of stuff about it.

I assume the storyline for the new BSG is roughly the same though? It is based on the old one afterall...
