i think this would make a good topic, i do think the 360 has decent hardware but looking at games at the moment on the 360 thier barely any better than a pc and in the case of the new morrowind game(oblivion) a high end pc can surpass the xbox version, i know its new console but the games are pathetic compared to the spec of the 360. we all know how the pc has operating systems that are extremly buggy and outdated which windows xp is, and seeing as microsoft is a huge company thier is no excuss in my opinion for rushing its console and releasing games that are barly above that of a pc thier is no excuse, and i suspect that the ps3 will more than likely be the same with its first games. do companies think that all we want is hardware that no programmer has learnt about, i heard that out of all programmers it is said only 5% know how to program from multicore platforms. that i thought was a joke but its proberly right and these are in the specs for the xbox360 and ps3, no wonder the games they release on them are no were near the capabilities of the console. they aspire for too much i reckon, the nintendo revolution will do better, more realistic to current programmer capabilites and backwardly compatible with every old nintendo consoles and the mega drive and will be cheaper than the xbox360 and ps3.

and the 360 had a VERY LARGE selection of games. They actually had more games released when it was than the original Xbox, and the PS2. It is predicted they will have a better selection than the PS3.

I'd be happy if the Xbox beat the Playstation, but i'd be extatic if the Revolution beat them both!

I'm a Nintendo fan, through and through. I don't care about the fact that they aren't going for uber graphics. They are different enough to make it worthwhile.

I was skeptical when the DS came out, but now I have one and I LOVE it. I'm way more than prepared to give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt over their new controller, afterall, they essentially created the entire design of current gaming pads!

Now that that design has become the standard, Nintendo are looking for something better, and from what i've heard, it IS better.

Some people might think that Nintendo are just a "kiddy company". But you have to think about who they are selling to. Male or female, young or old. Nintendo are making games and systems that are reaching out to as many people as possible, rather than focussing on the average gamer.

In the long-run, Nintendo are gonna profit from that far more than they would if they simply went for the same as Sony and Microsoft. They are different, and they are all the better for it.



This is totally true. The Revolution will apparently have an architecture that is very similar to the Gamecube. If you can make games for the Cube, you can make them for the Revolution.

Their software development kit is only $2000 as well - so even small companies will be able to afford to develop games. All this means the Revolution will have much higher quality games when it is released, and Sony and Microsoft won't be able to catch up.

The Revolution will win simply because it is different, it won't need specialist hardware to be used properly, the development base is already there, and they are prepared to take risks.

None of this can be siad for the others, who are just giving us more of the same.

Voted for XBOX 360. If we're talking the best then 360 deffinately. However i may think of purchasing a Revolution as its not just another console. What Nintendo has achieved in revolutionary. It's something new and exciting which is what the insustry needed.

I've been a nintendo fan since i was about 5. Had the snes, n64, gameboy, gameboy advance, the ds, the gamecube and i'm definatly getting the revolution. And not just becaue its made by nintendo and I have been brought up by it, but because its produced the best games EVER! Zelda, mario, donkey kong and pokemon just to name a few.

Have to mention here too that nintendo have to the most creative for the obvious reasons, and the 360 and ps3 are just re-releasing updated versions of their current systems. If they keep doing that then we'll never expect anything new in the gameing industry.

In conlcusion nintendo are THE BEST! And the revolution will rock! buwhahahah

oh and if anyone posts on here that the 360 and ps3 are better simpley because of harware, then you're screwed coz pc's are always being updated and will always surpass!

well i think that pc is the best by far games stay a desent price and it just alot more to it like you dont normaly have to pay for online gameing unlike 360 and other consoles

But you are basicly asking whihc is better out of 4 consoles when 2 of them havnt been relised i mean you can look at reviews but i need to play it before i make my desion

X-BOX 360- in my opion is a waste of time and money going on £200 for a console were the games are about £50 each its insane and its not that diffrent from the x-box in that graphics are better and thats it i rely dont like the 360 and im not a huge fan of microsoft

Ninendo (moes fav) - looks good they sta down and thought of something new with the control even though i dont liek the look of the control they gone away and thoguth something new rather than just updateing a pice of tech

PS3- not even gonna say out i hate ps2 hate ps1 and hate sony :@

pc- udate when ever you want do so much more internet word douments games are quite cheap free online gameing on most things and graphics are better than most consoles so i persoanly would go with a high tech pc but im not rely a console man anyway

Ye put whenever you buy a console game, you know it'll run fine. When you buy a top of the range pc game (like FEAR or Quake 4) if you have anything like a normal person's graphics card then you'll be screwed. All the's top pc games to make them look nice, you have to spend as much on it to upgrade as a new XBOX 360 costs.

so just wait till a pc game goes down to £5 or less and by the time that happens in 1-2 years time technology for running that game will be relativly dirt cheap, new pc games are allways built for the top of the range pcs, they are good value and are pretty garenteed future proof for around 5-10 years through regular patches, so by then you could play quake 4 even on a bog standed budget computer by then.

Thats why there specs on back look i dont know what ya on about i ran F.E.A.R on my pc last week and i looked fine and ran fine and im on a 2.4ghz and 512mb RAM and rad is right they become dirt cheap very qucik like for example i can get fear for a £10 and area 51 for a £5 its not like instead of paying £50 you get it for £45-£30 which is normaly what happens with these games lol right i had an arguement with mate today about this x-box are how much £50 for one on ebay right i know 4 people with 360's they have 4 360 games and there skint now to be honest lets say there £25 each (very cheap 360 game) ok so you buy them £100 ok now you know that in lets say another 2 years the 360 gonna be replaced with a better model and you have to buy a new one to keep playing now games thing that got me today when reading this mag is that when they relises halo3 they are prob gonna set up a pay mounthly thing on the live play now when u buy a 360 you suposed to get it free now i dont wanna pay £300 for a console with xbox live on it then get told i have to pay more to play the games i wanna play its bollacks i hate microsoft and i hate sony and what a surprise there moveing the ps3 deadline back so it wont be out till hang on oh yea christmass while u buy a PC and it cost a litle to upgrade and u play anything with help of emulators instead of only gettin few games coz only on that console RANTOVER FOR NOW AS I NEED TO GO TO BED

yep nothing better than the pc for emulators, why use a megadrive, snes,nes, master system or n64 games ya baught, when you can run them just as good on a pc and save your poor old consoles

Well i admit i've got a SNES and MegaDrive emulators. I've already got an N64. But i doubt a 360 pc emulator will look any good. Or you'll need a damn good monitor and machine to make it look good. Seems better to buy one when they come down to a couple of £100s.

And Billy, i really doubt FEAR ran fine on your pc considering how poorly it performs on mine (which is about same specs). What settings did you have it at 640x480

An emulator is a piece of software that allows you to run games or various programs that are designed for a different console on a pc.

well with pcs, the only reason a playstation2 and xbox looks crap is because the resolution of thier games are set to run on tv with a low resolution, thats why the xbox360 and playstation 3 need so much expensive hardware is because you need that to run games in a much higher resolution and therefore more detailed graphics and less blocky graphics.

For the xbox360 and playstation 3 ya gonna need at least a 26" digital lcd or plasma tv or a pc monitor higher than 19" to get the top graphics of a xbox360 or ps3, cause entertainment is slowly upgrading to the digital tv era and of course so do our consoles need to.

screenshots don't mean nothing. it's a still image of it. if you wanna prove anything of it to me then install FRAPS which records the frames-per-seconds. Run it during a FEAR firefight and take a screenie showing the frame-rate. if it's anything below 25 (which is 99.9% likely to be) you're scuppered mate. like most people that doesn't spend £150 on their graphics card every 6 months.

And btw billy, i'm not debating whether it runs on your pc. it runs on mine but i just wouldn't want to own it looking completely f***ed up
