Don't worry too much about details, General. As long as we can tell what the ship is meant to look like, then it is fine. Afterall, you can put all the detailling on the textures. :wink:

Is that 2000 polygons or 2000 triangles?
IE: polys as quads, pentas, hexas... or just tris?

The fewer polys there are, the faster that battles will run in the game - no matter how powerful your computer is. :wink:

Thank you for the confimation, Skeeter.

As y'all know I want to do a mod that starts slightly pre-warp. To do so, I need to make sure my models are within the limits... They tend to be in the 800 poly range... But those are mostly Quads (4-sided polys). If I triangulate them... Lets see... WHEW!!! The biggest is 1970 tris (3-sided). (The Dy-100 is only 390! :D )

By the way, Jig, I have improved the Vulcan D'kyr I sent you earlier. It's still not textured... I notice it's not on the ship list. Do you want it anyway? (Errrr... I *did* send you my collection of Vulcan ships... Didn't I??)

If you make any ships, ZDarby, then if you could send me a picture of the ship(s) or something, that would be brilliant.

Don't worry about hosting it, i'll sort all that out. If any ships are missing from the list then it is entirely my fault. I still haven't been told about the status of the Klingon, Romulan, or Dominion ships, which is why they still aren't posted yet. :(

I have posted an update to the shiplist - Dafedz has added 12 new classes of ship to the shiplist to balance things out better. Some classes of ship have also changed to different types.

Since I have only posted the Federation and Cardassian lists so far, only 7 of these classes are viewable, but the complete changes are:

I don't think I've updated it since you posted - but if the version of the shiplist you had doesn't include those ships, then obviously I must have. I can't remember when or what version you had; if I sent you one it was certainly unfinished, in which case it explains the omission of the Romulan ships etc...

I know, but it would be nice if more people were having a go - the more modelers there are, the faster they will be completed!

Eon_Janus has completed the Federation Yorkshire Class Transport III now. He won't be able to continue making more ships because he has exams coming up, however. :(

Was designing it as a ent era klingon light scout but i supose can be anything.

Btw the spikes on wing ends are temp till i get some nacelles done. Oh and so far its only 150 polys hehe.

To be honest, I quite like those spikes, Skeeter. :)

You could keep them in as mid-wing Disruptors or something... :wink:

That would make the ship a bit different, yet keep it Klingon. I can't think of any Klingon ships with mid-wing Disruptors at the moment...

Sorta gone for a bit of bop for wings, and bit of vorcha for mid back section with bop warp engines and neck like bop.

bop warp engines gets around the nacelles hehe.

Weapons boost the polys up a bit tho to around 1300 ish polys. As weapons are 500ish polys each, i could have gone lower but there basic enough allready.

Yes very nice. I'd like to designate that as perhaps the Klingon Fireblade class Destroyer IV.

Can you do one or two more of similar shape and design, but smaller for the earlier Klingon Destroyers? I'd like to retain a common design lineage within the class types, so that Destroyers I to IV kind of retain the same design themes and attributes.

What class do you want it to be? It could be:

SCIENCE SHIP I
-D'Raxinor Class TECH 0

SCOUT I
-R'Mor Class TECH 2

DESTROYER I
-D'Lokra Class TECH 1

Tech 2 would be early TOS, so it would work best as the Scout 1, but it's up to you. :wink:

well, i left the uni for ever. wasn't enjoying it as i supoused i would. so, yesterday i completed a model of the London class TP. it is untextured yet, and i'm not planning to texture it anytime soon, so if you guys like the model and enjoy texturing, plz be my guests and do it :P (this is if you are going to use my model. if not, then feel free to ignore this post u^^)

the polygons in the image are not tripled, but when they are, the ship is at 260 polys. obviously, a very simple, very elemental attempt :oops:

I urge you to try texturing, grab a free trial or somit, like paint shop pro and have a go. Start with grey, then add a new layer add some details on to that layer, then new layer then more details etc etc.

Do some snap shots of ur model in flat shaded or wireframe mode do get the start of texture parts of models do the front, then middle then back.

Btw nice start on the model. Of course it could do with a more detailed mesh so you can up the detail with more polys to define shapes more, especially nacelles.

Keep going with it, and im sure it will look great once updated and textured. :)
