I thought it would be a good idea to get you guys opinion on this.

As you know, World Of Warcraft is expensive. There are private servers which allow you to play on their server, NOT blizzards, without paying.

this is supposidly legal, since they arent making any money.

I was thinking of getting my own up (but changed my mind due to bandwidth). What do you guys think?

where do i get the server software ?

the software itself is complicated. Its not just open and run.

Howeve,r after there are around 200 people on a private server at one time, Blizzard sends a nice letter.

no matter which server you join, you will have to 'hack' your client.

some servers have like NO lag, they're good. If you join a populated server though, it'll be a little laggy.

*EDIT*

there has been an explosion of server usage (from 12 on at a time a few days ago to around 90 online at a time today) so the server I use is no longer on the toplists. Registration is still open, but it MAY close.

sry but it isn't legal! IT'S ILLEAGAL...

especially for the guy who opens the server and using the serversoftware! if you do it private (localhost) then its lagal but not in the internet (public)! but to get the software its also illlegal like downloading musicfrom edonky...

i know it because i did it in previous time! i had some versions starting from alpha vers and so on!

Please show us where it says its legal to do this general as im sure its not legal. PM me once you can show proof from somewhere official like on their site and once its proven legal this thread will be open once more. In the mean time this is being locked till futher notice.
