mate bet £50 that they would reach the semis and i dont think roney will make a massive diffrence but croutch is such a waste of space 1 header (i know he scored from it but still) out of 50 and he missed the other 49 what a waste of space

The problem with living in the USA is that soccer just doesn't get enough coverage. I'd like to see it become more popular here. One of my fraternity brothers is from England and a die-hard Manchester United fan, but he's one of the only people I know that actually watches the game consistently, and he always had to stay up late to do it. It's a pity, too, because it's far more worthy of airtime than (God help us) baseball.

Favorites i have are:
Holland
Argentinia
Italy
Spain
Tjechie
England really did play ****, and won't make it far. Germany will go down in 1/4 finale or something, because they just play bad. Brazil will make it in the half finale, but not further. French can;t accomplish anything the past years. They have to much players that want to be THE MAN.
But it's possible that Holland or Argentinia won't make it, and that s&m or the elephants come up with some suprises. You know what would be awesome Holland beating Germany XD . Somehow it wouldnt suprise me if Holland would go down early but it wouldn;t suprise me either when they win the WC.

Did someone say BASEBALL arghhh what a waste of time that sport is lol
NFL see americans have NFL even though the season for me is way to short im a die hard dolphins fan so i have to stay up late to watch them games lol
As for football its not big in america but there is alot of people working on it and trying toi introduce it to the country
And as for england we will be out next round i belive that if the astrailns beat hollend i think they have a rely good chance of doing it and i hopeing for a astraline and argentina finel with astralia wining (i would like england to but we got more chance of being run over by a bus in the middle of a swimming pool that is filled with custerd and toenails)

Yes England played like crap . And it was not Rooney's match. I'm a fan of Holland and I think they can come till the next round because they won a match against Ivory Coast before in a sparring match Still I think Brazill will come far till the finall, because they play really well.

NO offence guys but none of you sound like you have a clue what your on about. England are renownd for playing badly in games they are favourites, England are at thier best agianst better or equal opposition! So far England have not met this. We have played badly yes, but no worse than germany or brazil.
You wait and see, England WILL make it to the Semi's, any firther? im not sure as they will meet brazil there. It looks like Argentina will make it to the finals.... My prediction....
Final - Brazil/England Vs Argentina

Argentina will probably do it. But also watch out for some surprises from Spain, and Australia (yes Australia, they're definitely worth a bet).

I dont gamble, but my thoughts are its all about Argentina and Brazil, i think England have some surprises yet. You wait and see.
Germany - No chance, very poor so far
Holland - Good but no cigar
Spain - Played well, possible 1/4 finals

Yes i quite agree that England played crap against Paraguay and T&T but as Carrot said we do usually play rubbish against the supposadly weaker oposition. Let's think, in Feb ish this year England played Argentina with both teams at full strength - Excellent game with both teams playing well. BUT ENGLAND WON! Again Carrot's right that when we come up against Brazil/Argentina/Germany (suspect defence tho) etc we will play good quality football.
On another note: it's been shown that attacking quickly through the centre even by teams who don't normally do it has proven very effective. So why don't England do it? We're got some fairly quick players so it would seem a good idea.
AUSTRALIA TO BEAT BRAZIL?

I dont think Australia will win from Brazill. Australia plays good football but Brazill uses more tricks than them. Still they make a good chance

France is equal to ouch time.
That really was bad. THey should dump all the oldies, yes including Zidane, his days are over. But there is one bright point, they scored a goal. Finally after 8? years a WC goal for France, but still a draw.
I though the Italy-USA match was very nice to watch, because the game became more intresting after there were only 19 players on the field of whom 1 was injured from italy who barely could touch the ball. Ofcourse the things that happened weren't nice .
Holland didnt show a very good match yet, perhaps they will against Argentinia. It's for the 1st and 2th place, that means either portugal or mexico? (both seem to weak to stop these two) will play against them in next phase.
I was dissapointed in the 2-0 loss of tjechie. It shows us that African teams are become stronger and better each WC.
I also saw the way how Crouch scored, a bit distasteful to actually need to do that to win a match. T&T should have been a draw. Also TrekBoy this is the WC where you have to win. Now England has been in a easy pool and played bad, Argentinia is in a hard pool and played superb. If they would face eachother now i would think that England would lose. But as said that England would play better against stronger teams, i will be looking forward to a strong England side and to see a great match.
I would like to see Autralia to win or draw against Croatie, and that they win a match in the next phase. I don't like a underdog to actually win the worldcup , so they shouldnt get to far. Remember Greece 2 years ago...

rember greece lol i went on holiday there when i happend and bloody hell no one partys like the greeks lets just say that
Rooney had no impact on game last time and syaing he did took it away from those how worked there asses off like terry and lampard so i dont like that he did nothing and he shouldnt be looked at like this god like player
England get germany next were out if we get the other then if we play well then it might just give us aenought of a boost to take them on

Holland won't win next game against Argentinia, they replacing the players who have a yellow card, so some good player will be replaced

Talking of Greece, remember South Korea in 2002? Though both teams had the luck of a few dubious refereeing decisions.
When will they introduce video replays for refs to use? Then we'd finally know if Goeff Hurst's shot crossed the line
